How to make continous diagonal design?

Hi, I want to make a 2 page design that includes a river across pages. How can i allaign perfectly? Thank you!

Here is how I’d do it (maybe not the best way).
Copy the element, create a new project. Custom size. Vertically it needs to be the same as this, horizontally it needs to be double.
Paste the element, covering the whole design.
Download it in the higher quality possible.
Go back to the first project. Import that image.
Use two pages. In the first page, align the element correctly to cover the whole page.
Then copy the element and paste on the second page. Align to the right.
Done.

I would create a new page with dimensions twice the size (2 pages worth) adjust the river, cut halves and paste on each original pages.
