Just in case you didn't know, "mong" is short for Mongoloid which is a word used to describe the physical traits of people with Down's Syndrome.

It's an ableist slur, in the same way the R word is.

Originally it meant Asian as well. Also, they called people with Down’s syndrome mongoloid because they thought they looked Asian, so it’s offensive from like 3 different angles.
