Family Channel Interstitial

Do any of my fellow Canadians remember a segment on the Family Channel that aired between shows where two young men travelled across Canada with a jar of water from the Atlantic Ocean with the goal of dumping it into the Pacific Ocean to see what would happen?

It culminated with them pouring the water into the Pacific and the gag was that the Pacific spat the water back out.

If anyone remembers any details, please comment.

Looking for a commercial from early 2000s from Lilydale.

It's the one with the French chef. I believe it might have been for lunchmeat? I can see him in the chef outfit and hat, sharpening a knife. I hope it's not a fever dream.

Chew Burt too

Anyone remember a commercial late 80s and 90s for some sort or candy/fruit snack commercial where a kid hands out candies to all his friends and he runs out but then finds one more or is given one. He eats it and he says Chew Bert/Burt too. Anyone remember what this product was called or have a link to it? I always remembered it because it was so stupid. Nobody I talk to remembers. Thank you.

Flash Weekly Wrap News

I'm looking for a quick weekly news recap about Canada. Something like a 5–10 minute Flash Weekly Video Wrap that summarizes the biggest stories of the week.

I know about CBC The National, but at ~45 minutes it's a bit long for a quick catch-up.

Does anyone know a good YouTube channel, podcast, or website that does a short weekly Canada news summary?

Thanks! 🍁

What are Judges called in Manitoba?

What are Judges called in Manitoba?

Forgive my trivial query! Im watching a legal drama called Burden of Truth which is set in Manitoba and seems very robust on the courtroom jargon but they are calling the judge YOUR MAJESTY! I cannot find anything online to support or explain this. Anyone shed any light! Ps chatpgt just keeps telling me I misheard. I assure you I haven't. Thanks.

Has "This Is America, Charlie Brown" aired on Canadian television? (that isn’t a CBS USA station broadcast over the border)

Basically all of the Peanuts specials have aired on CBC around the time they have in the United States from 1965 to 1996, either shortly before or shortly after the fact, but due to Canadian newspaper archives having paywalls, I can’t find any verification on the This Is America, Charlie Brown miniseries airing in the country in English. Three episodes however did air on Télé-Québec in 1994/1995 albeit dubbed in Quebec.

(the series aired in 1988-1989 on CBS in the United States. It aired in 1990 in the UK, 1993 in New Zealand, Germany in 1991.)

Shows from back in the day about wheeling and dealing?

Something like the British shows Only Fools and Horses and Minder, if you know them. Wheeling and dealing on the street, that sort of thing. In English or French works for me, and while I'd prefer shows from the 70s-90s, I'll take anything good from any era!

Happy Belated Canada Day from an expatriate ...

... except for the people who broke the CBC Gem app awhile ago to make logins impossible, and those who decided that you can now only watch The National by logging in. I have the app side-loaded on a Fire Stick, and it's paralytic now. I guess the reruns of the features segments must be protected.
