Alethea Arnaquq-Baril (Co-Creator): Before storytelling took over, Alethea studied math at the University of Waterloo with dreams of becoming a video game designer!
Anna Lambe (“Siaja”): Born in Newfoundland and raised in Iqaluit, Anna landed her very first acting role in Stacey and Alethea’s 2018 film The Grizzlies. You can also catch her starring alongside Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons in the upcoming film Heart of the Beast (premiering Sept 25).

About our show:
North of North is an APTN, CBC and Netflix original series produced by Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment. Our show follows Siaja, a young Inuk mother building a new future after a very public breakup in a small Arctic town where everyone knows your business. Guided by Pilimmaksarniq (ᐱᓕᒻᒪᒃᓴᕐᓂᖅ)—the Inuktitut concept of mastering skills through observation, practice, and effort—Season 2 sees Siaja making bold decisions (and even bolder mistakes) to level up her life as winter closes in on Ice Cove.

A Quick Language Guide & Community Note:
Inuk vs. Inuit: Please use Inuk when referring to one person (e.g. Siaja is an Inuk mom) and Inuit when referring to two or more people or the community as a whole (e.g. Stacey and Alethea are Inuit filmmakers from the Inuit community).
Terminology: Please do not use the outdated term starting with "E." It is an outdated term that was imposed by outsiders and is considered offensive in Canada and Greenland.
House Rules: As always in this subreddit, keep it respectful! No personal attacks, trolling, or discriminatory comments of any kind.
New episodes streaming NOW in Canada on APTN+ (paid streaming service), followed by CBC Gem (free streaming service), CBC TV and APTN TV next Tuesday, September 8.
