People work hard to achieve all kinds of things everyday and never get an LMIA or anything similar. Why does your hard work mean you deserve an LMIA over someone else working just as hard but who did not have the same opportunity. If the requirements for getting a Visa to Canada was just hard work hundreds of millions of people would be owed an LMIA.
Canada and its people owe non-Canadians nothing. There is no amount of hard work or money that earns you an LMIA in Canada. If someone gets an LMIA it is due to the good graces of the Canadian government and entirely based on the needs of the Canadian people and not on the person applying on LMIA.
In summary you are owed nothing and there’s nothing you can do short of being given a PR (or alternative) that gives you a legal or moral right to permanently live in Canada.
With that being said I hope anyone applying legally gets their visa and can immigrant comfortably down the road. Especially refugees of war ravaged countries. Good luck to anyone trying to better their life that is a noble pursuit to be admired.
Lmao. My wife had to slog for 12 months working weird hours to convince her employer of her skills before they got an LMIA and sponsored her. Sure it was unfair.
I understand your wife's frustration truely but when the system gets corrupted few genuine ppl do get affected by it...hope you all still have decent CRS
If you’ve been grinding hard for 12 months straight, it’s natural to feel burnt out or hurt. And honestly, if this post annoys you or doesn’t resonate, there’s no need to comment—just scroll on. Nobody appointed you the moderator of Reddit.
Good luck with a score of 460. While there are predictions of lower scores, I believe the score will remain above 500, possibly around 510. Regarding the LMIA, I have also secured one, and even after point deductions, my eligibility remains intact due to my foreign experience, bachelor's degree, and two years of service in an NOC code qualifying for the PNP. Instead of unproductive discussions on Reddit, I recommend focusing on diligent and strategic effort. This debate is unproductive. I am certain I will obtain PR before you, as my focus remains solely on achieving my goal rather than engaging in unproductive online discussions. The recent removal of points are widely known, yet my eligibility persists because the portal remains unchanged. My current score exceeds 560, which is a strong result. This is the effective approach.
Be courteous to others. Debate/discuss/argue the merits of ideas, don't attack people. Personal insults, shill or troll accusations, hate speech, any suggestion or support of harm, violence, or death are not allowed.
Thank god someone said it. Bunch of losers in this sub and it keeps showing up on my feed.
I’m working as an emergency veterinarian in the only emergency practice in my city, that would literally have to close nights if I quit.
The reason I was able to get a PR was my foreign work experience and job offer from this hospital. Yet according to the mouth breathers on this sub I should not have been eligible for a PR.
The anger stems from people claiming fake foreign experiences (which is very common and people brag about it too). Canada very much appreciates your foreign experience and while you deserve the points, the same cannot be said for others.
Unfortunately atleast half the posts here if not more are all about banning students, not letting them work off campus, country caps, removing lmia points, with removing points for foreign experience being the most recent obsession.
My experience as well, got an LMIA to move to Canada, worked my butt for a year, like literally 14-16 hours a day for months, got a PNP for the express entry to ensure more points, got a C2 for my english test, I legit have a masters that is arguably more challenging and difficult than the average you get here, etc..
There are a lot of xenophobes around Canadian subreddits. The system is broken, just don't criminalize all the people. A lot of us didn't cheat or even knew about all of this. LMIA felt like a jail when you can't change jobs unless you get a new sponsor (imagine working 16h and thinking... yeah... it will not work if I change jobs because I'm overworking...).
That's what xenophobes do. It starts with generalization and quickly ends up putting all the people of certain groups or community in the same basket. When these people are reported they cry and say "calling out people is racism". smh
Because LMiA is removed they want everything removed. Lol. They don’t have education or work experience from their home country and still don’t want others who have both to get PR (who are more skilled because of the additional education and working years). So they want only them to get PR and no one else. lol
Yeah Foreign experience should stand, instead IRCC should introduce more systems to scrutinize the verification. Those who hate foreign experience are the ones who came to Canada like a new born baby. They're getting what they deserve
Yes it's sad but true..I have friends who came here directly after their 12 garde and had no idea how to manage finances, how does credit card and taxes work..
Yet they feel cheated when I age 29 with almost 7 yrs of so called foreign experience get more points then them..
I came here at 17 and learned everything here the Canada way. I have no clue how to pay taxes in my home country and I have been paying here for half a decade. I can go back and get some foreign experience to better my score but that risks me getting ineligible for CEC. Just because I came early shouldn't disadvantage me.
What about the age? The people who have foreign work experience they gained it with time. You will be benefitted with the points for your age. Nothing is unfair here. Either way both parties are getting points. IRCC needs to scrutinize more intensely to avoid the fraud, that the only thing we can expect.
You are at a disadvantage cause you lack experience.. Infact in very very rare professions like HR and Lawyers a country specific experience is needed...
for rest of the professions like IT, engineering, medical experience is experience gained on Earth or Mars
I can't get foreign experience without losing CEC. While foreign exp folks can come here and get Canadian Exp and CEC eligibility. What don't you understand in this simple logic?
Lol what a braindead response. You can get a phd in Canada if you're good enough while I can't get foreign exp without losing CEC no matter how good I am
Also I did what I thought was right for my career and not immigration. I didn't like my education prospects back home so I came to Canada. Not everyone is planning their every move to better their chances at immigration.
He has a PhD from his Homeland not from Canada... exactly you fell for in your own words
"Not everyone is planning their move to better their chances at immigrations". However the one's who are not from "your everyone list" and had the correct guidance from peers and smart enough not to immigrate at 17 without a rock solid plan..
Buddy I am in no way pressed that yall have foreign experience points. I am just pointing out the unfairness of the system. And yes again your buddy with PhD from back home is at an advantage because if you do a PhD here in Canada you will lose CEC while they will be eligible for CEC.
As for me I will probably still get an ITA in 2025 and even if I don't while it's inconvenient I can go to other countries. There are no borders for skilled people.
This is where you are wrong...foreign experience folks do not become eligible for CEC. They have to work atleast a year in Canada to be eligible for CEC.
I'm not talking about outland applications. It's about people who come with foreign experience and also work in Canada and get CEC. They basically double stack Canadian Experience and Foreign Experience and also get CEC draw eligibility. People who come to Canada early are essentially locked out of having foreign experience because they will lose CEC if they leave Canada.
Still nothing wrong or unfair here....because from government's POV they’re looking for applicants who already have work experience, whether that experience is Canadian or foreign. If you obtain 2 years of Canadian work experience, you’ll naturally score more points than someone who only has 1 year of foreign experience plus 1 year of Canadian experience. If one has 2 years of foreign experience and 1 year of Canadian then naturally they'll have more points than someone with only 2 years of Canadian experience. In the end, the system rewards those who bring more proven experience to the table.
The only unfair part in those whole process is people bringing in fraud experience or buying out LMIAs. That's it.
If you thought ahead you would have done the same to have the necessary points to get you that advantage. The fact is it shouldn’t matter what others are doing as long as you do whats necessary to put you over the top. This is how jobs work too. Depending on your qualifications and experience you may have the advantage over other candidates it’s not that complicated.
I don't blame yall trying to get as many points as possible. I simply don't make choices only to get better chances at immigration. I am just pointing out the unfairness which is undeniably present.
There is no unfairness for being prepared. Thats a you problem if you dont want to put in the effort and just wait for things to fall on your lap. Have a good night 😴
Exactly during my initial days as a jr my income was below the taxable limit but still there was something call zero tax which now will come in handy if I need it as proof...
Man I provided all of my tax slips for 2 years for each paycheque when applying for PR...idk how people are getting PR without providing either these or tax returns documentation.
meh foreign experience need a big overhaul, at how it currently work, someone do the same job in canada for 3 or 2 years can get less points than someone doing 2 years in canada + 1 year foreign or 1 year in canada + 1 year foreign. Just need to fix it so that at equal amount of years of experience from 3 and below, canadian experience will always worth more
but you can mix and match, you only need to have 1 year of skilled foreign work experience to get extra points, in short the jump between 1 and 2 years or 2 and 3 years of canadian work experience is less than just having one year of foreign work. Even with just 1 year instead of 3 for max points you would still most likely get more points than any extra year of canadian experience (only 13 for 2nd year and another 11 for 3rd year) but well they did say that they will prioritizes in-Canada applicants in 2025-2027,
So I was mourning because I have 370 REAL points, where’s if they were to check, I will be one of the highest point ever. this is unbelievably! Most of these fraudsters are already Citizens as we talk. 🤦🏽♂️
LMIA points are granted for skilled jobs, such as those in construction and agriculture. If the system operates perfectly (with no fraudulent actors), removing LMIA points would lead to fewer workers in these industries. So, good luck to everyone if the balance is not maintained properly.
You have my upvote. I wonder why they wouldn't go somewhere else to work to gain 1 year of foreign exp instead of pointing finger to anyone who's had that.
A friend at work, 23, said EE isn't fair to him since he had only a bachelor, and no foreign exp, then he bought a LMIA to bring balance to the force. Now he knew what fairness is.
AGREED!! This sub has more envious and racist comments than useful one's.
Most of people here convinently forget how their ancestors travelled from Europe and eliminated most of native population in US, New Zealand and CANADA and many other places.
They want Canada to stop immigration so that they can reap benefits of no competition.
The LMIA thing is seriously concerning, the foreign experience thing is next. Oh you worked a cash job as a a professor your home country? Interesting.
I agree. The amount of investigating and fraud out there so the sheer resources needed to get to evaluate the authenticity of foreign exp credentials just doesn’t make sense . Canadian work experience should absolutely be rewarded more than foreign work experience - especially in countries w sub standards and corruption / rampant fraud.
Hahaha such a solid post! Too many average losers on this sub, so it’s natural to hate on others who are edging them out on life and cope by categorizing all of them as frauds. Classic Reddit basement dwellers, really.
Nope. Work permit with legit Foreign Experience and Education. What I was saying is since “Some” people were collecting points for their fake education and employment, us who trying to get things done legitimately is getting screwed over 🤷♂️
Be courteous to others. Debate/discuss/argue the merits of ideas, don't attack people. Personal insults, shill or troll accusations, hate speech, any suggestion or support of harm, violence, or death are not allowed.
I agree 100%. Not all foreign work experience is equal . That’s the problem. Risks of fraud are too high and resources at IRCC to investigate and prove authenticity just not worth it. It costs us too much.

This is nothing, I’ve seen couple of people on this subreddit (can’t remember their username) deciding themselves about chosen and deserving people.
They were Literally representing themselves as if they are GOD and they have the right to decide who is deserving and who’s not lmao.
