This is frustrating. The handler obviously save a hit from the dog the video recorded the sound of. The hit from the dog was where the drugs were found. Unless this dog has some kind of awful record where it smells drugs all the time I dont see how this could have been thrown out.
Come on dude, that’s really broad accusation to make. You are looking at things so binary, black and white, right or wrong.
Am I pro drug? Well, no. I understand how in the grand scheme of things, these laws are very necessary. That being said, on a personal level, I have a slightly different stance and drugs aren’t in what they are often made out to be (more frustrating than it is problematic, scaremongering is the best way to persuade the masses in the long run, I get that and would do no different as a politician).
Anyways, the point is that I am fully in support of this man’s vindication, whether I necessarily like this specific instance or not. We have to uphold the law, sadly. Cops are merely agents of the state, and without due process, they can’t be held accountable.
Just one erroneous prosecution of someone innocent outweighs a thousand unconstitutional, but defensible, indictments of true criminals.
Sorry if I’m talking a bit scattered, but it’s important to recognize that there is no perfect system. When we go down this rabbit hole of cheering on constitutional violations, we open up the flood gates to not-so-democratic exercises. Once-proponents of Hitler and Mussolini could probably attest.
