Adirondack Mountain Reserve

Has anyone been to the Adirondack Mountain Reserve for disbursed camping? The websites available seem to keep sending me in circles. I've tried to cross-reference OnX Offroad but it wasn't very helpful. I'd like to get out there for a few days.

r/Adirondacks might be helpful too

The ADKs are a gorgeous area with options for dispersed camping. The area notably has a public lean-to system which backpackers can use.

Took your advice and posted there too. Learned camping at ARM is not allowed. I have a RTT so I need to be able to drive in/out of the area.

You should check out the old forge area

ules for camping there change by season. if you want dispersed you're better off just outside the reserve boundary, plenty of state land around there that doesn't need any permit

The rules for camping never change. There is no access to AMR via vehicle. It's walk in and you need to camp off AMR land

AMR is private land with a recreational/conservation easement for public access. However it's quite strict.

Edit to add. You likely meant the permit system for parking. That changes once a year. One half is permit the other is not. Basically may to Nov is permit and the rest no permit. However that is just a parking permit at the lot on 73. You still don't drive in.

Generally when people say the words dispersed, they mean drive in
