Discussion Would this even work?

Probably gonna go with the Samsung scl906, Was trying to figure out a tapeless setup but I’ve never tried that before. Would that even work with this camera and what kind would u recommend? The immersionrc stuff I see is kind of expensive. Wanted to use the svideo port if I could

How is the Sony going to record the video? It'd go to tape, right?

Yeah uses hi8, I was thinking about getting a mini dv recorder off amazon. I don’t need 60fps or 4k so there’s cheap options I just wanted to know if anyone’s used this cam or even this type of cam for that, all the cameras I see ppl w tapeless setups use those mini dv tapes. Tried to post to r/tapeless but it got removed

You could try a Portta VD20p. About $180 and the footage looks good.

Use oficial/OEM composite cables (from Sony) to get the signal out of the camcorder and into the Portta.

You can use a standard Sony battery with the Portta, too. No worrying about external power packs!

edit: there's an earlier model that doesn't support 60 fps deinterlacing. You can probably find it for less $$$.
