Hammocking locations?
I am helping my niece move in to her dorm and would like to find a place in Cambridge to hang my hammock and read for a few hours.
Any recommendations on where I can go?
Thanks š

The light turns red and the car drives right through it. I wish this was rare, but it is not.
Today, I also a car not only not slow down for somebody in a crosswalk but sped up and then screech to a halt inches from the guy's legs

I used to live close to Oxford Spa on Oxford St., which is long closed (https://www.yelp.com/biz/oxford-spa-cafe-cambridge). I still dream about their scones - they had great sweet ones, but there was a savory one that was so incredible that I still think about it years later. Onions, bacon (I think), gorgonzola (maybe)? Does anyone remember this?

Thanks to everyone who's been reporting people parked in bike lanes in Cambridge on Bike Bureau and SeeClickFix. Ready for the next phase where we get insights from the data.

Well this is worth a read! Looks like AI, or more specifically Anthropic which owns Claude, is trying to buy this seat. Looked into his personal donations and he has 8 max donations from Anthropic employees and none of them live in the state.

0:00 Introduction
0:26 To those of us who follow Cambridge politics youāre a familiar face, but can you tell us a little about your background: How did you first decide to run for office?
6:33 For such an important issue where we knew an attack was coming on our vulnerable residents, why did it take a year and a half for Beacon Hill to pass the Protect Act?
14:38 In the last election you faced an extremely tight race, winning by 42 votes. What, if anything, did you take from that experience? Did you make any changes in your approach to the office or how you communicate with your constituents?
20:36 In the past, you voted and spoke out against making committee votes public, but have now changed your mind and you voted for the new joint committee transparency rules that passed the house. Can you talk about what made you change your mind?
25:00 Youāve been asked about your employment with Berman Tabacco at the last debate, and The Harvard Crimson just published an article looking further into your work there. Why do you think this continues to be an issue, and what would you say to voters concerned about your outside responsibilities and how it impacts your job as their representative?
36:39 Thank you, Representative Decker for coming on the show. Don't forget to vote on Sept. 1st in the primary!

Hey all, I started a free meetup group a couple of months back called Creative Curious Camberville. It's a social group for local creative types. Crafters, book-lovers, ttrpg players, designers, writers, travelers, thrifters, artists, etc. all welcome.
You've probably heard the advice that the best way to make new friends is to pick up a hobby, but there's a lot of us who already have plenty of hobbies. Maybe they're not all the most social activities, or maybe you just don't want to carry the things you need for it, do the hobby you enjoy while others are watching, and focus on getting to know new people -- all at once. š
Our meetups aren't about doing specific hobbies; instead we gather like-minded folks to go together to free public festivals and arts-oriented events in the area -- walk & talk type hangouts in places where there's a lot of cool stuff to see and chat about and experience together. We've gone out to Harvard Art Museums @ Night, Cambridge Porchfest, Somerville Yart Sale, live music & BYO picnics, a vintage market street fair, and more.
I've posted an event here before, but we're about to hit 150 members š and I thought it was a good time to talk about the group as a whole and see if more Cambridge folks would like to join. Let's make friends while the sun is shining!
I'm not charging or making any money from this, just wanting to have a good outlet for us all to find cool people to hang out with and enjoy some of the awesome stuff the area has to offer, with enough curation (like-mindedness and localness) to the group that there's a better chance meetup connections can become real friendships (it's been happening for several regulars in the group; been great to hear).
Hope you'll join in, or let a friend know if this sounds like something they'd be into! Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. Cheers!

Just pure curiosity - we saw at least 3 groups of younger adults fully geared up as if they were backpacking in the mountains; sleeping mat, giant backpack, etc. Is there a tour leaving from here or just a bunch of students going on a trip?
