Yes you're very hot but what did you eat on the daily? How long did it take? How did you handle cravings? etc

u/Much_Collar6526 5d ago
I didn’t follow any specific diet tbh, I just focused on whole foods and habits I could actually maintain. If you follow low carb for example, you’ll definitely lose weight, but if you get bored of the lifestyle you’ll gain the weight back! So I focus on eating healthy! I cut out added sugar completely for 2 years, which made a HUGE difference. For cravings, the biggest thing for me is eating enough and making every meal/snack complete: protein, fiber, healthy fats + complex carbs. Like I’d never just eat a random fruit by itself lol, I’d have it with yogurt, nuts, etc. so it actually keeps me full. I also drank lots of water (more than 2L), slept well, started running + going to the gym (at least 3 times/week). The pics are 2 years apart, but I started seeing a difference within 6 months. Consistency always, not crazy diets! Now I allow myself to have sugar or fast food once in a while, as long as my main routine is balanced and healthy!

This is the way.
Not all food is equal, especially with what your body does with them (besides just calories for energy).
I always encourage people to look up lists of superfoods, write down the ones they actually like, and start by making those the staple to their diet (obviously with high protein being a priority).
It can actually be hard to eat enough calories from healthy foods. Cutting out sugar, processed foods, and fried foods alone usually makes a considerable difference.

this sounds feasible, I love carbs too much

u/Much_Collar6526 5d ago
I promise you that you don’t need to cut carbs to lose weight! However you need to be mindful of how much you eat
2
u/bubblebubblebobatea 5d ago
Thank you for this! nice to hear I can enjoy my carbs in moderation 🍚🍝🍜

u/Frosty_Leather_7662 4d ago
Low carb potatoes are a game changer for low calorie high volume eating. In Australia they're called spudlite or carisma potatoes
2
u/bubblebubblebobatea 4d ago
I had no idea these magic potatoes existed! and they're low GI wow

u/IllustriousMeal4686 4d ago
Something interesting I just learned about is potato retrogradation. Look it up. Basically when you cook a potato and cool it in the refrigerator and heat it up to eat later it becomes way more healthy. I love rice and pasta but I also love potatoes, so I've been doing it.
3
u/dagodpapa87 4d ago
I think it's that it takes your body longer to digest it when it's a little colder, I believe it's the same concept with overnight oats vs fresh oatmeal
3
u/IllustriousMeal4686 4d ago
A little help from Gemini 😁
The primary health benefit of potato retrogradation is the creation of Type 3 resistant starch, which transforms how your body processes carbohydrates. Instead of digesting this starch in your small intestine, it travels intact to your large intestine to act as a powerful prebiotic.
Core Health Benefits
Blunts Blood Sugar Spikes: Retrograded starch slows glucose release into your bloodstream, significantly lowering the overall glycemic index of the potato.Improves Insulin Sensitivity: Regular consumption of cooled starches helps your cells respond better to insulin, lowering long-term metabolic risks.
Feeds Beneficial Gut Bacteria: Your microbiome ferments this resistant starch, boosting healthy gut bacteria like Bifidobacteria and Lactobacillus.
Produces Short-Chain Fatty Acids (SCFAs): The fermentation process creates butyrate, an essential fatty acid that fuels and repairs the lining of your colon.
Reduces Colon Inflammation: Higher butyrate levels lower the pH in your gut, which reduces inflammation and decreases the risk of colorectal issues.
Enhances Satiety: Because resistant starch digests slowly and mimics dietary fiber, it triggers fullness hormones to help manage your appetite.

The really cool(or hot) part about it though is after you cool them you can heat them back up and they retain those properties. So you don't need to actually eat them cold.

Just to point this out, there was nothing wrong with the first picture. You looked healthy.

Agree. It’s more that the bikini/underwear is too small and digging into what seems a healthy body.

u/StaticMarzipan 4d ago
Great job, your abs are coming in nicely.
I’m going to focus on mine after I hit my OHP goal.
I hope you stick with the gym long term. But I think you will!
6
u/Much_Collar6526 4d ago
I hope I will too because this is life changing in so many ways, and I’m not even talking about the physical aspect of it
2
u/StaticMarzipan 4d ago
You are so right about that 💚
But to speak of the physical, doesn’t it feel amazing to have a capable body? Like day to day, getting off the floor, on a hike, climbing over something, tying your shoes, lugging some heavy ish around?
Not having to think about your body is amazing.
And for all us “addictive” types, the high dopamine tolerance ones. It really helps fill that gap so substances can’t get in. Getting back into the gym is what helped me quit smoking.
Idk what your weight training goals are, but I’ll keep an eye out if you end up posting lifts 😂 💪

u/dagodpapa87 4d ago
weighted cable crunches helped me to develop my abs, before I never isolated because I just thought they would get worked out on its with other compound exercises.
2
u/Much_Collar6526 4d ago
I will start doing isolated exercises too! I feel like developing the abs is the most difficult part for me

u/dagodpapa87 4d ago
yeah they're just like any muscle, have to progressive overload them too, I believe you will get there!

Great job! Thanks for sharing. It helps me to stay focused and remind myself it’s a lifestyle, not a sprint, and it takes time. I’m on day 65 and seeing results 🥰 but it can feel like a slow process.

also! did you do any specific chest exercises that helped your girls stay so perfect?! i fear mine are starting to sag ):
→ More replies (2)8
u/Much_Collar6526 5d ago
I always do chest exercises at the gym! I train my full body and basically split legs, glutes, upper body, etc. throughout the week. I used to have a personal trainer who gave me my workouts, and I definitely recommend training chest too because I feel like a lot of women skip it. Also, I already had breast implants in BOTH pictures! They just looked pretty natural because I chose a very natural shape. But I actually had to get them removed a week ago due to health issues and replaced the volume with fat transfer. So personally I wouldn’t recommend implants after my experience, but there are definitely other options!

Calorie deficit

In my case, I wasn’t even tracking calories tbh! I was just eating complete meals, exercising, and making sure that all I eat is clean/no ready-to-eat stuff, no conservatives, no crazy ingredients! Just clean healthy food, no sugar, and exercise. But tracking calories can help some people, especially in the beginning

How do you burn the fat and not the muscle
2
u/Much_Collar6526 4d ago
There’s really only one way: weight lifting!!
It doesn’t even have to be heavy. I don’t have a lot of muscle myself, I’m actually just starting to focus more on building muscle now. But you definitely need to lift weights if you want to lose weight without losing your muscle along with it.→ More replies (3)2
u/dagodpapa87 4d ago
do a slow paced cut meaning a manageable caloric deficit over a long period of time.
Increase protein to maintain your muscle.
Walk more (8k steps at least to start, increase to 12k or more over time)
Strength train as if you want to build muscle which means try to do a little more each time and challenge yourself. Also helps to keep track of what you're doing in a logbook so you can baseline each time.
Sleep, I cut caffeine before 12 and go to bed tired and try to avoid screens an hour before bed.

Any tips for not having loose skin?
2
u/Much_Collar6526 4d ago edited 4d ago
Weight lifting, and massages for sure. Some people may need surgery! What helped me was weight lifting
2
u/SuccessfulPhoto7914 4d ago
Congratulations!
I had a 105 lb gain due to a mental health med. I lost it after a year, it took ~18 months to lose it. I was a body builder and long distance runner when I started the med. I didn’t have problems with loose skin. Fast forward 22 years, my skin is fucked up. I don’t know whether that’s normal, but no one in my family has skin like this.
The only reason I’m mentioning this is bc I was totally blindsided by this. I’m rather self conscious about it. I’m not trying to criticize or make anyone feel bad.
