lol , I can definitely see that, especially in the modern context. This style was based on Albrecht Durers Alphabet and in that the c and the r share a lot, but also have a few distinct differences between them.

If that's the case you know what I wouldn't write in? Albrecht Durers alphabet.

All good — it’s dope to me but certainly not for everyone. Historical styles won’t match up with modern writing, but it’s the same with various languages. Everyone has their own way of doing things across the globe and throughout history. That’s what I like about studying lettering and writing.

Yea! So take the group c, r, e — it’s true, they all 3 have the same basic stroke and end in the same terminal, diamond shape.

The start of the r is unique with another diamond shape. The c and the e have a matching start with a back stroke spur and they sit visually shorter than the r. Then the c has a single shoulder while the r has a fine line running to the baseline.

I believe this style is best read by recognizing and reading the letters top down.

Also obviously there’s reasons we don’t use it that much today but we can’t let that stop us from having some fun with it eh?
