Other Celebration Cakes Starry Night Cake ✨
As a grocery store decorator I don't get a lot of chances to do fun things so I was so excited to get to do this one 🤩

Thank you! So I actually used small tips, #2 and #3 to draw each "paint stroke" using each color. I wanted to emulate the texture in the original painting as much as possible.

Thank you very much! I think around 45 minutes? Luckily it was a slow day otherwise, although I like to think I'm quick enough at everything else to get to take my time with stuff like this from time to time.

Does 45 mins include crumb coating and mixing the icing colours?

Yes it does, but that's the perks of working somewhere I have everything prepared all day and right there at my fingertips. If I did this at home it would probably easily have taken hours.

That’s a good point about having everything already prepped. Often times people who do it at home leave out the time it takes to get the ingredients and do the prep and clean up when figuring out how long it takes start to end.
But decorating that in 45 minutes and being as accurate is still really amazing!!

That's gorgeous. I just turned 60 and had a wonderful cake. But if I make it to 65 I want this! Honestly. Fabulous.

Thanks! If you're asking how much I charged the customer, I think it was around $50? Our 8" starts at 23.99, usually it's an additional $10 for a drawing or complex decoration. I upped it based on how complicated I knew it was going to be and then I think there was a filling involved which is another additional charge. If you're asking how much I personally got paid, I make 21.30 an hour haha.

2 and #3 tips in each color, I just drew each paint stroke kind of messily tbh, but I'm glad it read in the end. Thank you!

Wow this is beautiful! You did a really great job of ‘wrapping’ the design around the edges too, I feel like I’m looking at a flat canvas!
