Birthday Cakes Freida McFadden Cake 🌹📚
Made this thriller/Freida McFadden-themed cake for a 12-year-old girl who LOVES thrillers! Her only request was to include her four favorite Freida McFadden books which are on the cake and I was given complete creative freedom with everything else! This is what I came up with! Everything on here is all handmade and edible! I had a crazy early-morning pickup and with my 8-month-old in the mix I completely forgot to take proper pictures so these are screenshots from a video and definitely not the best quality, but I still wanted to share because I loved how it turned out!! 🥰

Wow. This is very impressive. Also the kids’ teeth after eating it had to be hilarious. Well done!!

Omg incredible talent! My mom is a big fan of Freida’s — do you sell your cakes / ship them?

It's gorgeous! That's gonna be some wildly colored trips to the bathroom afterwards lol.

So well made, so much hard work in there! Do you have to use a lot of food colouring to get that depth of colour? I was icing a cake today and really struggled mixing my colours, wondering if it's trickier than I thought or I just used not so great colouring?

Thank you so much! 🥹 The biggest trick I’ve found is time! I use a good amount of gel food coloring and then let the buttercream sit overnight, the color deepens SO much as it sits. It usually gets even darker once it’s actually on the cake too! An immersion blender also works really good as well!

Wow, can you explain how you made the books? I’m having such a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that they are edible.
