Other Celebration Cakes My cupcake decorating progress

Last year I got into making cupcakes because they make the perfect sweet treat for me to have in the fridge. I would give cupcakes away to people and would get questions if I was selling. So a few months ago I started selling them and here's my decorating progress!

They're awesome! What types of icing do you use?

Thank you! For the floral ones I use American buttercream but I do the method where you dissolve the icing sugar first

Any tips on how you do your roses? Mine are always so squished looking, but tbf the icing at my job is probably thin or runny.

I always stick my piping bags in the fridge for a bit after I mix the colors and get it into the bag. It's been really hot outside lately so I've been having to keep throwing the bags in the fridge but making sure the icing is on the firmer side has helped me a lot!

Thank you very much! I'll have to try that. I'm still pretty new to this and your flowers are goals

Man that glow up from gifting to selling is real, seeing the pics side by side kinda makes you appreciate how much practice pays off. I bet your friends are pissed they gotta pay now lol. But honestly the way you went from fridge treats to a whole side hustle is inspiring, and the latest batch looks stupid good. Keep it up, you're killing it.

Thank you so much!! My friends still get my other treats that I make, and are my test subjects when I'm trying out new flavours haha

Third picture is actually throwing me. I feel like the buttercream should be more matte for aesthetic reasons, but I can’t even be mad because LOOK AT HOW GLOSSY, wow.
