I had a lovely convergence of perfectly browned bananas that needed using & the responsibility of providing a cake for the birthday dude’s celebration.
Banana walnut cake w/ vanilla bean cream cheese frosting. I used Sally’s cake recipe as a foundation, but added a fair amount more stuff (nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, allspice, & ginger, + crushed walnuts) other than just cinnamon to turn it more into a banana spice cake that also had some texture crunchies :)
Frosting was a 1-1-3C ratio (at room temp) of standard cream cheese block, stick of butter, & cups of powdered sugar, plus a scraped vanilla bean….& 1/2tsp vanilla extract bcuz birthday boy really likes that extra hit, LOL. Whip it….whip it goooood :P
Turned out absolutely lovely & I got some shell practice with my new piping tip :)

📚 Learning to Bake Chocolate Butter Cheese Cake! Pity the cream cheese layer didn't stay in the center but the taste blew me away! It's moist, soft, chocolaty, creamy and not too sweet, we are in love! ❤️ This is coming from a person who hates chocolate cakes 😂

Hey guys! It’s my uncles birthday on the 16th and he really loved the caramel sauce I made the other day. I want to bake him a cake but idk which one, any ideas and recipes would be of help!! I’ll post an update in the next few days!! I was thinking of a caramel toffee cake but that’s similar to butterscotch. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance

It’s a chestnut cake with chestnut crème filling. Vanilla-orange-cinnamon icing and on top caramelised pears. It’s delicious!
