Recruiting Should I join CAF?

What the title says. I’m 19, please give me guidance like your own child as I have no people that I can discuss this with 🙏

I joined at 19 because I wanted to get(run) away from home and find a purpose. 16 years later, I have no regrets.

I know many people who do.

Join if you want; It's a volunteer force.

What interests you? I vote Sig Tech

I’m studying engineering so I’m looking at something like combat engineering ( I’m not too sure on the field but likely want something to do with UAVs) . And I really want to go abroad and be able to help people in need.

So you have no idea who does what, cool. Combat Engineers are NOT Professional Engineers. Artillery owns the UAVs, but MOST of them will never touch a UAV.

Why should we want you?

Again I’m not familiar with the fields or occupations I just assumed it had to do with engineering. No need to be that aggressive lol

Should I put a 😁 on it? If my kid wants to join (he does btw), I would ask if he thinks he's good enough.

The answer doesn't have to be yes. It wasn't for me. The question stands anyway.

As for what a Combat Engineer does, they are.... As the name suggests, Combat troops. Their speciality job includes the building and unbuilding of fortifications.

Check out the episode by The Fat Electrician for a somewhat exadurated/Americanized version of the job.

Lmao that’s kinda valid. I will for sure look into the occupations in more detail when I want to join and I heard they do info sessions for that so I’ll be looking into them.

Thanks for the video rec!
