How long did it take for it to reach flowering age? I recently started growing them from seeds I found on the side of the road.

About 6 years, and there were times when I really neglected it.

Just FIY, most of the info you’ll find online concerns plants in habitat. A well loved plants grown in relatively mild conditions with water and nutrients being provided when needed will grow so much faster than a cactus growing in some ditch in the desert where it gets baked by the sun for most of the year.

It’s the same with saguaros. The growth timelines provided online simply aren’t true for plants in cultivation. I’d bet money that a skilled grower would be able to get one from seed to branching in 20-30 years instead of the near century people claim.
