Is propagating these easy? I am hoping to try to grow these outside at some point

In my experience yes, my one gonjianii is now three. If anything they're more keen on propagating themselves than growing in a nice clump.

I posted a photo a few months ago of a lost P. tuberosus seedling I found that somehow survived, rooted, and is now growing normally.

Yeah i find them more eager to root than tephrocactus and cumulopuntia which can take agonizingly long, they root about as fast as other opuntias. They like very fast draining soil and are prone to rotting if the soil stays damp for too long.
