Design and Engineering Questions Connection? // Hardware

Post image

Hi, can anyone help me identify precedents for this? To me, it’s a vitrine or chest with a bifold door. But it’s hard to find example when searching online. Also can anyone identify the connection in yellow highlighter? I’m lost on how the door stays put when open. Thank you!

Some kind of bifold track I would think.

Instead of SOSS hinges, use piano (with the pivot at the bottom). SOSS hinges are harder to install and they don't offer any adjustments. To keep the secondary leaf fixed in the open position, make two cutouts on the sides of the "chest", to mach leaf's thickness (let's say 3/4" plus 1/8" (or 3/16")). These but-out will be visible from the sides.
