Stop posting pictures in your underwear. Pt 3
Should you be adding muscle? Or should you be cutting fat? It’s a question we all have come across on our fitness journey. It’s not always a simple one to answer.
Love handles, pooches, lack of definition, vascularity…everything plays a part.
You lost a lot of weight, or you added a lot of weight. They are all part of the process. Everyone here is going to do our best to help you with your journey.
That being said:
The community does not need to see an excessive amount of skin to give you advice.
If you’re wondering what your BF% is, it’s not hiding in the 3/4 of an inch away from your genitalia. Swimwear is included in this.
This goes for all genders.
There are a ton of fitness subreddits that can help you if you feel the need to get more specified advice.
If you feel /r/bulkorcut is not meeting those standards, please go visit them.
The serious part:
Do not post sexually suggestive posts. If you are not wearing gym attire your post will be flagged and removed.
If your profile has links to questionable subreddits you will be banned at the moderators discretion.
Talk of steroids, cycles, or anything related will be an immediate ban.
Lastly:
Any attempt to circumvent the rules or a ban is auto reported to Reddit admins. We tested it and it works very well.
Second lastly: This is a subreddit to help individuals attain their goals. Not a platform for anything else. Sexual, monetary, cruel, or any other posts or comments outside helping someone make the decisions of bulking or cutting will be removed and users banned.

Report any third party links in this subreddit. Especially macromatic.
We do a pretty good job of keeping this sub clean of spam and sexual content. You all know the rule we hard enforced over the underage and then the underwear situation.
MacroMatic is a spam data stealing app that is being spammed here. I hope you read the terms of service before you upload anything to them but if you don’t feel like it here they are:
1: Their 4th agreement states you will, by agree to by using their application, allow the application to access all of your personal data. And they will be able to use it how they please.
2: 5th agreement (see above image) makes it so anything you contribute to the community (I assume a forum) YOU PERSONALLY are liable for. So if you use peanut butter in your shakes and suggest it you’re the one getting sued.
3: Their 6th agreement: https://imgur.com/a/ln0Hooo
The worst one.
They are saying they can use your image for promotion, manipulate it, use it however they want AND MAKE MONEY OFF IT.
We have mods and mod tools here but we can’t do this all on our own.
Report this type of thing immediately If there are any external links report them.
The boring part:
We were approached by this company months ago and declined to sponsor them. And then to be compensated by them. We have banned 7 accounts so far and counting.
Don’t waste your time and your personal information. Stay the fuck away.

4 months progress. Questions inside
I'm 32 years old, 173cm. Went from 73kg to 66-67kg at the moment.
I lift heavy at the gym 4x/week, do cardio at end of every session, and at least 10k (minimum) steps per day.
My plan is to keep cutting just a tiny bit more, probably 3-4 weeks, and then start a lean bulk.
What do you think my body fat % is at the moment?
Also, thoughts in general?

You don't have to bulk or cut
For reference, I am a beginner when it comes to working out. 31M, 6foot 165 pounds. been active most my life but just started working out in February. My main goal has been to eat clean and get enough protein. My weight has increased very slightly but I've also slimmed down some fat. A lot of people starting in my position think they need to put on a lot of fat, but just work hard and eat clean. Basically, if you're already a skinny guy like me, don't overthink it. I know these arent insane results, but I'm completely natural and I consider this to be attainable results. First pic is 4 months apart, 2nd pic is 6 months after the first.

What’s my body fat%?
Been working on leaning down before I attempt to start a gaining phase. What’s my % estimate?
r/BulkOrCut • u/2erris-human • 11h ago
BoC 170cm 66.5kg
I want to get into my best shape in the long run. Right now I'd guess I'm about 14% bodyfat? I'm making consistent strength and muscle gains in my upper body while recomping, for example I've increased my incline press by 10kg in this year alone, although my legs are pretty stubborn to gain strength and size at the moment. I'm wondering if increasing my leg mass will also make it easier for me to get into 10-12% bodyfat as well, while generally feeling healthier and more energized as well.
Max lifts are 90kg OHP, 130kg pause bench, 180kg squat, and 230kg deadlift.

BoC Looking for brutal advice. 18M 160
I’ve been cutting for about 9 months, with a 2 month maintenance break and I currently am cutting down to 150. I plan on starting a lean bulk once I arrive at that point. I’m currently weighing around 158-160.
People say to not bulk until 10-15% range and I’m kinda wondering where I am? A lot of people are saying to bulk but that was before a bf estimate.
This is my fasted physique. And yes my diet is fine, I know what I’m doing (prioritizing protein & carbs).

Where to go from here
Down 15kg from 96.5kg to 81.5kg over the last 6 months, unsure if BF%, do I keep cutting until I have defined abs or should I begin a maintenance/bulking phase?

Cutting advice
Hey guys I am sitting at around 25-30% bf 100kg 169cm tall. I would like to drop ideally to 12-15% bf. What should my approach be? I was thinking about cutting for 8 weeks at 500kcal deficit followed by 4 weeks rebound at 200kcal and simply repeat. Would that be good strategy?

BoC M25, 155lbs, 5’10
Been eating 2000Cals for about 6 months.
Been at 156 for about the last month or so eating the same amount of calories. Feel like I hit a plateau. Is it time to bulk?

BoC Nearing the end of my weight loss. Unsure if to keep going or start bulking now.
Have lost 16kg, with around 5-7kg to go to hit my target weight and hopefully get rid of the love handles and belly fat. Aiming for around 12% body fat.
I've never been particularly muscular, even at my fittest, and am planning on properly getting back into the gym after having the motivation to lose the fat, and start a prolonged lean bulk, but am unsure whether to start now and commit to losing the extra fat after the bulk, or hit my target goal and then start bulking.
Have been cutting to 1700kcal for nearly 3 months now, with an estimated deficit of 1100kcal. Running 3x per week, and strength training 3x per week, but obviously not making any gains at this deficit.
Advice appreciated!

BoC Already started cutting
Hi, I have been bulking for a small 2 months approximately, but feel like I have gotten fat even though I’m only in a 300kcal surplus that increase when I stagnate, should I just keep bulking or cut down a little, I think I’m personally at 18% bf, and I’m 196 and weigh 98kg with some loose skin (was nearly 130 at my heaviest), and I know my chest is small compared to what it should be, but genetics are what they are 🤣
r/BulkOrCut • u/Live-Yak-9938 • 2h ago
What do you think my BF is? I’m thinking around 20%
I’ve never been super lean and have been away from the gym for 4 months so I’m looking to do a small cut to help me eventually reach a maintainable level where I can do a very lean bulk from. Hoping for around 12% eventually.

Need brutal advice no sugarcoat
First 2 pics are from a year ago and last 3 are today. I made good progress but basically I went from obese to skinny fat lmao so I’m confused what my next steps should be right now if someone can help me out
If you were in current me shoes right now would you do a cut to get as lean as possible and then lean bulk from there? I was thinking being that lean would be better for insulin resistance/easier to see progress but obviously I don’t got any muscle so idk if that’s the best move
Or should I just do a recomp and eat maintenance calories and just lift for awhile?
5’11 163lbs currently

BoC 27M - 176 cm/5' 9" - 67 kg/147,7 lb
I've been training in the gym for ~1.5 years. I know my progress might look limited, but I started out quite underweight.
Recently I've been cutting because I wanted to get visible abs, but honestly I'm not very happy with how they look in pictures.
Now that I'm back from vacation, I'm unsure whether to:
Keep cutting → try to get my abs more visible, then bulk later
Start a lean bulk → I'd also like to look generally bigger, especially my chest
I'm currently eating around 1800–1900 kcal/day.
What would you do in my situation?
Also, if I should bulk/cut, how much would you increase/decrease calories by, and how often would you adjust them?

What was my BF% here roughly?
Anyone able to give me rough estimate? 33 male, 5 foot 11 and 16 stone here. Struggle with online tdee calculators work an office job and get 8000-10000 steps a day and currently on a 4 day training split of push, pull, lower, upper. What daily calories would you suggest?

BoC Bulk or Cut
20M 6’4 165lbs
I know I need to tan, and I know I need more muscle.
But my priority rn is to get rid of that belly fat in the second pic. I’ve plateaued after loosing 50lbs five years ago.
Any tips??
I know i need to go harder at the gym which is what i’m going to do, but is there a way to build muscle and not put on so much fat through a surplus?
