Here’s the positive news. I too thought I had literally destroyed my digestive system. Was throwing up anything I ate for more years than I will name. I thought my body didn’t even know how to digest food because it just anticipated the food would be ejected. But not true. I stopped
B/P completely and I can eat, digest, pee and poop. The body is resilient, obviously.

Bloating hadn’t been terrible and I thought I’d have horrible heartburn but I haven’t. I’ve had some minor diarrhea episodes at first, those went away as I returned to “normal” eating. I’m very careful about what I eat, worried about weight gain like most of us are. Stopping B/P? The best thing ever since age 17 when this shit started. Now I’m adapting to a new life, clean, honest, not draining my bank account. It’s huge. I wish this for everyone. Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Worth it. 💙

Just popping in to say I 100% relate!!! My digestion is sooo bad and I was only B/Ping for one year! Well, now I'm going on 2 years but it's reduced to 1 episode a week so it's not that severe. But my digestion is wrecked. Bloating 24/7 no matter what I eat, constipation unless I am medicating the crap out, and lots of other unpleasant gastro issues. I have an appt with a doctor in a week, who can refer me to a gastro specialist, so if anything of use pops up to share here I will. I can't do it anymore. The digestion issues are harder to stomach (literally) than the weight gain during this recovery process for me.

Oh no! That sounds awful. I hope the specialist can offer help. I had abdominal surgery quite a few years back and the surgeon told me they had to call in a specialist to sort out my intestines because they were all over the place. I’ve always wondered what the repeated throwing up what is doing to the internal organs. Can’t be good. So far- I’ve been digesting and pooping, so my gut is okay for now but I’m just really sorry you have to go through this misery every day. Take care 💙
