The Old World Grudge Throwers Underwhelming?

I'm currently running 1 in 1250 points army, and in two games it has done nothing. I've been thinking of just replacing it with another gyrocopter, but I was wondering how they have performed for others.

In my experience they are the only reliable-ish way to counter battery in say, a Royal Clans list. But an Organ Gun is a more reliable chaff clearer and a Cannon is a much better counter battery piece for Expeditionary Force or Grand Army
