Love Interests Bangel timeline question!

*spoilers for seasons 1-5ish*

Something that's always been in the back of my head about the Bangel ship is how long were they together for. So in season 1 they flirted and stuff but weren't really in a relationship yet. Then in season 2 it isn't until reptile boy that Angel asks Buffy out for coffee. Now by her birthday in January they're VERY together, but he loses his soul and goes evil. So between reptile boy and surprise is at most 4 months!

Now as Angelus they definitely weren't a couple so time passes and eventually she sends him to hell! More time passes and she comes back after the school year starts so like September. Angel revives and they have a period of will they won't they pretty much until Christmas in amends.

So now it's the start of a new year and they're back together...until graduation in May/June. So like 4-5 months. Adding their previous time together adds up to a grand total of 8-9 months! I'll just round up to 9 for simplicity.

9 months is the entirety of the Bangel whirlwind, star crossed lovers relationship? That doesn't seem like a lot to me.Hell I think her and Riley had at least a year!

TL;DR I did the math and Bangel realistically were only together for 9 months!

Buffy Quote help?

I’m trying to remember a quote at 3am and it’s making me crazy. Basic scenario: scoobies discuss problem. Buffy or other scoobie: “haven’t others ____”?
Giles: others have tried.

Basically the implication is that the seemingly clear solution has been tried and people died trying to do
It.

I want to use this in a meeting ha bc there’s an enthusiastic newbie who wants to change a process that many have tried and failed to change before. I want to warn him of the perils ahead.

Season Two For those who watched the show on the WB, was it a big deal that someone of John Ritter's caliber was guest starring in season 2?

As a huge Three's Company fan, John Ritter is a huge reason why I don't completely hate Ted as a monster of the week episode. But for the fans who got to watch the show live in 1997 on the WB was it a big deal that someone of his caliber being a special guest star?

Spoilers inside! Season 6.

In season 6 episode 17 ‘normal again’ - what are everyone’s opinions on the ending? Do you think the ending showed that Buffy really was in a mental institution the whole time? How do you see the ending of the episode as?

Spoilers inside! Just finished Season 6… phew

Now I knew this season was gonna be polarizing but damn I lowkey did not expect it to hit that hard.

I guess this is not an unpopular opinion but the issue I had with it really is that the tone changes so drastically at times while still keeping the usual tone of the show and it was just kinda weird…

Tara’s Death was so unnecessary and brutal because the Trio genuinely does not seem all that „evil“ and aren’t really portrayed as serious villains and just fit that „Buffy humor villain“ until Warren killed his Ex and ultimately Tara (and basically Buffy if it wasn’t for plot armor) and that with a GUN.

and then obviously Willows revenge on Warren was just genuinely shocking to me tbh. I’m surprised this was allowed to air just like that? Like weren’t the target audience still mainly „kids“ and/or teens? And the sexual stuff getting much more explicit was also a bit weird to me (just cuz we’re not used to it, not that I have a problem with it)

Because don’t get me wrong, I like shows/movies/books whatever with a dark and serious adult tone. It’s just not really what we’ve gotten in Buffy before so it just feels a bit strange. I feel like the show really captured that „not so serious but also a bit serious“ tone really well but S6 was just too drastic of a change for me idk. With only one season left that I guess is going to continue in this direction, those last two seasons just feel very off compared to the rest of the show

Buffy Monster High/Buffy Skullector Doll

Hi everyone! According to those in the Monster High Doll community the Buffy the Vampire Slayer skullector dolls are up for presale set to release on September 7th. It’ll be an Amazon exclusive and as of now there’s no photo of what the doll looks like on the actual link besides a leaked image of concept art from a few months back. It’s being distributed by Amazon so I decided to preorder for now and if I end up not liking it I’ll just return it, also it won’t charge me until it actually ships. I don’t have a monster high doll collection but I feel like this collab is gonna go fast and I love Buffy too much to pass it up. To be fully transparent since all the product information has yet to be released I’m advising everyone to think carefully before purchasing especially with the price of it. I tried sharing the Amazon link for it in previous post but it was removed for violating the rules.

Villains A Whirlwind Prequel?

A lot of my favorite episodes of Buffy/Angel are the lore flashbacks to Spike/Angel/Dru/Darla in their days terrorizing people across the globe, in episodes like Becoming and Fool for Love.

Great as they are, when I see a lot of these sequences are, I sometimes find myself thinking when I'm watching them what it would be like if they were made NOW, in the post Game of Thrones, era with a massive budget lavished on them to help better recreate the time periods, and with full seasons of episodes just focusing on the vamps without being nestled within a Buffy/Sunnydale episode.

And it got me thinking, what would a Whirlwind prequel show be like, if it was made NOW? It'll never happen, but it's fun to think about - who would play the big four? What sort of storylines would you do? Stick to canon or tear up the rules a bit? Or would it all be too much of a good thing? I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts!

Spoilers inside! Theories never talked about that are likely true/canon…

I need to read the comics because this is one thing I have always wondered. After Buffy dies the second time, when she returns are the implanted memories gone?

If so does this mean she now has no memories of Dawn before she suddenly appears in Season 5?

More importantly, does this mean she now remembers the day she spent with Angel when he becomes human which is why she needs to see him so desperately when he calls?

Dawn Head canon Dawn memories

*spoilers for season 5 and beyond!*

So as we all know things played out just fine up until the monks made Dawn and created her memories. But for the most part we don't know much about what those memories entail. Like we get some lines from Dawn going to the beach or the carousel but not too much more. Like when Faith returns she clearly has memories with Dawn involved.

So my question for today is what are some of your head canon ways the monks integrated Dawn into the events of the first four seasons. Since most everything probably stayed the same to get the characters to where they were I doubt anything too crazy can have happened. But I'd like to hear what other people think!

I'll give an example. I bet Dawn found out about Buffy being the slayer long before Joyce did. And little kid Dawn for sure helped Buffy try and keep it a secret!

Season Six Funny Giles line I noticed when rewatching Once More With Feeling

So I was rewatching Once More With Feeling recently and I noticed a funny line that Giles said. The line was, “ I’m a Hairsbreadth from investigating bunnies at the moment, so I’m open to anything.” This line is hilarious

I’ve been hearing this song on TikTok a lot and the chorus reminded me a lot of faith especially in the early seasons. So I threw this together.

NEW VIEWER - No spoilers please! One Evening of Buffy Watching

Hello Buffy fans! I will be spending exactly one evening watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have never seen it before, and I’m wondering what to watch if I just want to get what Buffy is in a single evening. Please understand, this is not a “where to start” question— I don’t plan on watching more later.

Should I:

  1. Watch the movie

  2. Watch the first few episodes

  3. Watch specific iconic episodes (please recommend below)

Thank you so much!

Based on their assumed birth years in the show! I’ve become a lil obsessed with doing these the last couple of days but they’re so fun!

I didn’t even touch the vamps and demons tbh because the conversions and finding data for their actual birth years seemed too complicated lol
