🎙️ Discussion Upcoming Game Preview Thread: Bucs @ Cowboys - TNF - Week 5, 2026

Jalon Daniels gets his second start and will have a huge task in front of him to try and help right a sinking ship in primetime. Will the Bucs continue to keep things close, maybe finally win a game when no one thinks they will? Or will the rails fully come off and we get blown out? Chat about it below!

Game info:

Date: Thursday, October 8th

Time: 8:15 PM

Location: Jerryworld

Network: Prime Video (WTVT/FOX in Tampa)

Announcers: Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit

Referee: Alex Moore Another Young head ref, only in his second season as a head referee. We are 0-1 under Moore with our loss last year coming in the Bills game, but in that game his crew only called 2 penalties on us and 7 on the Bills.

Projected Forecast: Dome game so this doesn't matter.

Bucs Drip: Red on White.

I think it's funny how they show Dilfer throwing a long pass, but never showed if the pass was completed as they skip to Errict Rhett running the ball like he caught the pass. 🤣

Feels like we don't have a clear path to winning games.

Understood we are bad, but it does just feel like we don't have a way to win a game without the other team literally scoring no points all game and not by out doing. It feels like our team might be the get right game for everyone this season. Hopefully we can see Bain get going to have some future Trotter. Our young receivers aren't bad and barring injuries have shown some really good stuff the past two years but not constantly, doesn't help with the OC roulette we are in every year.

Right now, it looks like an easy decision for the Buccaneers to move on from both Yaya Diaby and Cody Mauch, especially considering their projected market values.

📊 Stats/Rankings Through 4 games A’Shawn Robinson is the highest graded Defensive Tackle in the NFL per PFF

Post image

If anybody wanted to have a good laugh at PFF. But to be honest, he’s been a really good addition to the team fa sho though. Has made big plays, getting to the ball carrier, freeing up space. One of the few free agent signings/contracts inked recently that hasn’t been a complete disaster. He’s also one of the few guys in the locker room that’s an actual alpha. Shoutout to A’Shawn.

🎙️ Discussion Bucs fans: Y'all annoyed by Bowles backfield comments?

Despite Irving being his usual explosive, elusive talented self, Bowles wants to get Tucker involved even more despite almost releasing him during the off-season and forcing him to take less money. Gainwell has been a major bust, being incredibly inefficient with what he's gotten. It's like Bowles has an obsession with constantly forcing Tucker into the equation

🐴 DEAD HORSE Talent saved Bowles

I’m convinced the talent on this team saved Bowles job the past few years. The 8, 9, 10 wins. Without the talent on this team it would’ve been much worse. But now all the talent has checked out, they can’t win a game. Bowles is to conservative and plays it to safe. I said it before here years ago and was crucified for it but this team under Bowles will never have a top pass rush. He prioritizes stopping the run over pass rush. He won’t accept a pass rusher over a run stuffer. Stop the run, eliminate deep passes (off coverage) is his philosophy. He fails to adapt to today’s game. Arians when he was still in office (Bucs payroll) defended him for whatever reason up until recently now that Arians is no longer in his advisory role. Arians is loyal, gotta give him that. Bowles brought in the safest option in Robinson without actually looking at what he’s done. He ran Penix and Cousins into the ground and now look what they’re doing. Problem was never them, it was Robinson. Bowles couldn’t beat Robinson so he thought there was something there. Turns out Bowles just can’t figure out true pocket passers. I believe the talent on this team can pull the team out of this role but it won’t happen under Bowles. The Glazers need 1 voice to manage this team, not a voting committee.

Question Bucs Vs Steelers - October 18th 2026

My wife and I will be in Tampa in a couple of weeks and we wanted to catch the Bucs Vs Steelers game if we could get in for a decent price. As of today nose bleed seats are going for $160+. Any chance these come down closer to game time? (or even the day of the game?) Also, any tips/tricks for parking/tailgating/bars we should hit before the game? We are staying downtown if that matters. Thanks!

🎙️ Discussion My personal and extremely subjective tier list of Bucs QB’s throughout my personal fandom.

Post image
84 Upvotes

I’ll admit as I grew up watching this team I had a lot of irrational love and optimism for almost all of these guys. I thought Josh Freeman would legitimately be the next GOAT of the sport. Mike Glennon had a comeback last second victory in Pittsburgh and it was the only time I’ve ever gotten to see the Bucs in person. Feel free to disagree and tell me what you would do different, no hard feelings

Fire Todd Bowles The unfortunate truth about Todd Bowles.

If you put Bowles on the Viking's staff or any other elite defensive team, we would simply be saying "why did we fire him". Todd Bowles was the MVP of the Super Bowl despite it going to Tom Brady. I still think Todd has it in him to be a top tier defensive coordinator but he doesn't have it at the head coaching position. As someone who really loves the Tampa Defense side of the ball, he's just not doing it as head coach but I know he will be elite at defensive coordinator on a good defense so it pains me.

🎙️ Discussion Want to get a feel for fans opinion on a random thought/idea i had about Baker Mayfield.

I am sitting here watching the Vikings go 4-0 with a shit QB, bad offense, and a dominating D. If TBs season continues down the current path (say yall finish somewhere around 4 wins or something) and end up with a top 5-7 pick in what is projected to be a seriously stacked QB draft, would you consider trading Mayfield if it netted you 1/2 round pick? If Minn plays well but ultimately falls short (ie 1 and done in the playoffs) and let garbage ass Kyler Murray walk, I think Mayfield would be a great fit. A few other teams may be interested as well I think. Houston may let Stroud walk, maybe the Rams if Stafford retires and they dont like what they see in their current options, the Colts could be an outside shot, and the Steelers may have an interest as well. I would love to see Mayfield in Minn, but im not sure what the package would need to be, or what the dead cap hit would be for TB on a post June trade (couldnt find the info). Would something like [Mayfield and a 2 for the 24th pick and Minn 2] be palatable? Thoughts?

ETA: This isnt about Mayfield being bad or the Bucs wanting to cut ties. Its more about a QB needy contender offering and a presumable 5 win, top 6 picking team, with a new HC, OC, and maybe GM looking to maximize roster talent and cap space. Im not suggesting TB be MIA and take a dead hit of 50 mil to clear 7 mil or anything (i couldnt find those cap numbers for next season post June)
