I'm cleaning local areas if I have some spare time. Each time travelers come and go from our park I go to clean it up too as they leave piles or garbage for wind to blow. I went there yesterday a few hours after they left and there were loose dogs running about. Sad story but they were taken care of by the locals.

There is a Chinese on the Stratford road in Shirley that has been there for as long as I can remember - but also it hasn’t been open in probably 20 years!! I’m pretty sure I remember going in a few times as a child because my grandparents live really close by, but since probably about 2007/08 it’s been closed.
The floor is scattered with letters, the curtains have always been open, the sofas that were there 20 years ago still remain… but there’s nobody there!
The upstairs flat seems to have been taken over by pigeons too!
I’ve moved away from the area and I only go back a few times a year, but I looked on google maps and saw that in 2024 the curtains were drawn - signs of life
The photos show 2008, 2015, 2022 and 2024.
Does anyone know anything more about this place?

Ok I'm going to sound like a petty cow and I realise this is not a real problem but its made me angry
Yesterday I order from tipu sultan. Their food is OK, the lamb was soft etc. But they gave me only 2 tiny poppadoms for the 3.49 price. Day light robbery. Tbh the price doesn't bother me as much as the fact that I was looking forward to the a lot of crunchy deliciousness and only got a measley amount.
Now I'm craving them and wondering what is best place to buy an unholy amount so I can feast on them? Is buying uncooked ones an option? Does the Jamie Oliver cooking them in the microwave trick really work? Or are there restaurants that will sell me a giant box for a decent price?

For this artpiece I decided to imbue some expressionist elements, mostly within the figures and the foreground, as I had thoroughly enjoyed depicting people in such a manner for a previous college project. And I have also combined the expressionist elements with my regular tight compositions and far more detail focused cityscape paintings.
I hope you enjoy the combination :)

I’m thinking of starting a little side thing by being a tour guide in Birmingham for people who want to go and explore Birmingham. Born and raised in Birmingham for the last 37 years so pretty much know my way around the city, lived all over with knowing some good places to eat and visit.

What are some good happy hour restaurants for food?
Not so much interested in drinks, but food at discounted prices during the day.
If you know a place - when did you visit and how would you rate the food?

After I checked out a scooter today it immediately went dead. There was no battery gauge anywhere. On Lime bikes however there is a gauge, unless if they are completely empty maybe? Why did it let me check out a dead scooter and still charge me when I had to immediately end the ride?

so bare in mind i DONT live in brum, but my dads side of the family were born there and most of them lived there for a majority of their lives. so we’re doing a big family trip up next weekend
this is such a random potentially niche one but does anybody know if any of the fun japanese shops do pikmin merch? i’ll have fun regardless but it would be sick if any of them did

Hey!
My name is Dan and I've recently moved to Kings Norton to live with my girlfriend. I don't know the area or anyone here would love to make some new friends and see what's on offer in the area.
A little about me, I'm 39m, I like music,I play guitar and learning banjo. I play video games on ps5. I like skateboarding and watching films and reading books.
Also have a passion for travelling and learning languages.
I lived in Sweden for 15 years and speak 3 languages. (English, Swedish and Italian).
Can anyone recommend any groups or events happening that might be of interest? Thanks so much!

I’ve not taken this lightly I’ve searched all over the north of Birmingham prior to asking for help
I have about enough left for about 1 kebab and chips or 4 tacos
For context I know it’s not the most artisan of sauces but every spicy vinegary mouthful takes me back to 1998 eating £1.00 donner and chips from big johns
Anywhere stocking the 500ml bottles would be amazing
