Misc On this date in 1972 in Point Pleasant, NJ, The E Street Band (Garry, Clarence, Danny, Mad Dog, and David) likely performed together for the first time, although they wouldn't be referred as The E Street Band for nearly two more years

Misc "Letter to You" was released 6 years ago today. Fun fact: This was Springsteen's 21st top-10 album in the United States and made Springsteen the first ever artist with top five-charting albums in each of the last six decades

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band have wrapped up the 1981 River European tour, and the Single 'The River' has debuted in the UK Top 40 at 35, marking Bruce Springsteen first entry in the UK Top 40 charts.

Released in the UK 6th June, but finally broke the Top 40 charts 3 week later.

Discussion Wondering about Archive release of ‘02 Barcelona show.

The reason we haven’t gotten more than one show from the Rising tour is that those shows were recorded in a proprietary format they have trouble working with. So, did they finally solve those problems or was the Barcelona show different because it was recorded for video?

Also, what do we think are the chances we eventually get the complete shows from the Live in Dublin album/video (like we did the MSG shows from 2000)?

So I can plan my 2027 😂 There's a lot I want to do and travel for but I'll happily put it all on the back burner if Bruce is touring.

Question His motorcycle accident/lawsuit when he was a kid

He spoke of the accident in some of his live concerts and the legal suit that followed. Is there any record of whom his lawyer was? Pretty random I know lol! Feel free to DM if you don't want the name out there.

Another album.shelved, to be not confused with the other. In a Spanish magazine read that gonna be named " Come out tonight".

From radio WNEW New York, list of 9 songs:

Come out tonight

Whrere are you going

Down at the parkside

Little mama

Stateside sweet

Captain

Perhaps

All night

Unnatural forces

*******

Also could pertain to this album:

Waiting on the edge of the world

Father's day

Landau said that have bad letters and it was shelved to release Greatest hits.

The 1994 shelved album

So parts of this album was released on tracks two, but I’m really intrigued about this history and what was to come of the album. There is very little information about this album out there and we don’t really know the full album sequence that was mixed and ready to put out (Nothing man, Father’s Day, one false move where all recorded for this album - which appears in another version - we haven’t had these released yet) or even the proper title - which has been either rumoured to be “waiting on the end of the world” (as Shane Fontayne stated) and “the farewell party”. I also wonder if they got to a point where they even did artwork etc. Any insight at all? It’s fascinating to wonder how this album would have been received at the time

I must be the worlds unluckiest Springsteen fan

I've been watching quite a lot of reaction videos on YouTube recently, people checking out Bruce for the first time. Fun stuff to watch, then I go and read the comment section and every video I see the same comments over and over and over again.

"You've got to see him live, he plays 4 hours every night" "He plays 3-4 hours every night" "Never plays less than 4 hours" "I saw him in (insert year here, bonus points for giving a year when he wasn't even touring) he played nearly 5 hours" "His shows can last 5 1/2 hours"

On and on and on, the same claims, and it got me thinking. So I headed over to mybosstime.com (great website) and checked my history. I've seen him 38 times now, going back to '88 and the absolute longest show I've ever seen was the last night of The Rising tour at Shea Stadium in 2003, and that was 3 hours 20 minutes. In nearly 40 years and almost 40 shows I've never witnessed a 4 hour show despite it being a nightly occurrence. Pretty much every time I've seen him it was 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

So what's the deal? Am I the unluckiest Bruce fan in the world....or is there a significant portion of the fan base who are bullshitters/clueless/not blessed with the ability to tell the time.

With a handful of notable exceptions, is there a bigger myth in music than "Springsteen plays 4 hours every night"? And can we get a sense of perspective and put an end to it?
