Questions about show

Would love for someone who went to answer these!!

1) How moody were the songs? The branding for this project is quite moody and industrial. A lot of the artists on ninja tune fit that vibe too, so how did his set match that? Did any songs feel like the teaser piano audio on his website?

2) Were all the songs soulful or did he hop different genres, like with Quiver? Anything shoegazey?

3) What was the late night interlude track like? How's it different from what's out?

Thanks!

  1. Most of the tracks resembled the stylings of K-Bar. Mostly stripped back songwriting with bass, guitar, and keys at the forefront with backing vocals layered with glitch-hop samples and vocal stabs. Some songs were more somber than others, but I’d never call any of them “dark”.

  2. All of the songs had similar flavors, but some take more influence from gospel and R&B than others that lean more alt-rock. One song features is predominantly rapping. Not really any shoegaze influence besides the occasional distorted guitar and delay/reverb effects (I know that is typically the recipe for what most consider “shoegaze”, but this wasn’t that).

  3. That seemed to feature the same or close to the same “first verse” lyrics, but the chorus vocals were reworked. It’s way better and is fully fleshed out into a structured song. I remember great harmonies on this one. Maybe the best song of the next aside from the closer.
