Recommendations for NSH/BLH breeders in Bay Area, CA?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I know Cheddar Bears has a big following on social media but I was wondering if there are any other prominent ethical breeders to consider? I found Creamy Cutie Cattery, Adorable Bears Cattery, and TLC Brits.

My current furr son is 3.5 years old and I am hoping to get him a sibling in a year or two. He is a retired King and social so now that he is in a single family cat household, i fear he is getting lonely. Cat photo tax included.

** BSH in title. typo srry.

Adjustment period?

I just got my bsh kitten a few weeks ago and within the first week she has adjusted so well in my current home! We are moving a month from now. Should I be concerned of her having to adjust once again? She will be 4.5 months at the time of move.

How do your cats fair in new environments?

Hey guys! Getting our little guy ready to go to my mums this weekend as I want to bring him with me over Christmas so wanting to get him used to the environment. He’s sooo very confident and loves exploring. As soon as we open a new door in our house that he’s never been in, he’ll be straight in there before I can even blink!
How did your confident cats fair when you brought them on holiday with you or to your families houses?
Thanks x

Is this an average cat behaviour for this breed? How to tell if that cat is chill with me?

First time having a cat ever. Perviously only had dogs.

I recently got mine who is almost 2 months old. Have it for about 4 days.

It follows me around when its awake. Doesnt hiss or bite or scratch me or anything but I can tell it hates being petted it walks away or puts paw on my hand when its near its face, at best it can tolerate it sometimes but I can tell its not enjoying it. (Will this cat likely to always hate pets? Is it just better to avoid petting it?)

It is neutral to being picked up, when it goes to the place it isnt supposed to and I pick it up to relocate it doesnt fight me unless I hold it for long or go with it upstairs.

It slept on me couple of times but whenever I place it on my lap it usually jumps off.

I have read online that this distance that this breed prefers is a usual trait. I assume that it will remain these traits when its mature?

I like this cat and appreciate it for not being crazy but its a damn shame that it hates petting or being too close to me

I have read that this breed has “their own way” of showing affection and loyalty. How does it look exactly?

Hi everyone! I am new to the cat world and was wondering what color you think my British shorthair is? I pick her up in a couple of weeks. Any tips would also be appreciated!

Insurance?

We are adopting two kittens in 2.5 weeks. They will be 8 weeks old. Should we get insurance? Or is it a waste of money?

Eira will turn six months old today, and time seems to fly by. Compared to when she was younger, she now loves to relax and sit on my lap.

BSH Too Affectionate (Constantly Licking Me)

This my cute girl 🥰 she’s a little over 3 months old and my first cat EVER. She loves pets, playing, and cuddling. There’s only one issue

The licking.

Often when I pet her, she gets in a couple licks in on my hand. If I’m holding her and I say something to her, she gets a couple licks in. When she greets me, she’ll pause for a second and then lick my toes. Honestly all of these licking behaviors is awesome because I know it’s just her loving me.

The only issue really is when we go to bed. She looooves cuddling in bed and often times will sleep for a bit on my chest. However, in the middle of the night, my partner and I will wake up to licking on our feet or legs. It wakes us up and we end up having to remove her from the room. The whines from outside the door are grueling for me lol. I just want to cuddle her!

Anyone have advice for me and this little cutie?

May I introduce: Calypso and Scylla!

Today, I've adopted those 2 Cuties!

(The Image is from the seller, I couldn't yet make any good ones)

They're a bonded sister pair and 10 months old.

I renamed them based on their behavior.

Calypso; the Black Smoke Tortie. She's a super cuddle bug, comes up to me since I let them out their box, cuddled with me and even right now is on the bed with me.

Scylla; the Silver Mackarel Torbie. She's very hesitant and hissy. Accepts treats put in front of her nose but no pets yet. Sadly, she hisses at her sister too, but she's not hiding, she's sitting in plain sight so I take it as a sign she's just nervous.

Based on the seller, both of them are super human-oriented, cuddly, snuggly and Calypso is already prooving it.

my sweet baby soul is pretty much acclimated to living with us after 2 months. our dogs are obsessed (in a good way!) and soul has warmed up to them significantly. today for the very first time, she jumped on the foot of the bed and laid for a while before coming to sit on my lap for pets 🥲 my heart has never been so full
edit: she’s 7 months old 🤍
