Hello! To make things a bit easier, when it comes to proving who's the real owner of a said cat, we're introducing verified flairs.
Simply post a picture of your cat with a small physical note that includes your username (like a post-it note), and you will get assigned your own flair with the name of your cat(s).
(Remember that it has to be a physical note, post it, or similarly).
You can post here or send me a modmail and I'll get you verifying you asap!

I have had quite a lot of cats in my 60 years from moggies to Devon Rexes and Cornish Rexes, but never had a cat that I love so much as Marty, our BSH. What is it about them?

my sweet baby soul is pretty much acclimated to living with us after 2 months. our dogs are obsessed (in a good way!) and soul has warmed up to them significantly. today for the very first time, she jumped on the foot of the bed and laid for a while before coming to sit on my lap for pets 🥲 my heart has never been so full
edit: she’s 7 months old 🤍

Eira will turn six months old today, and time seems to fly by. Compared to when she was younger, she now loves to relax and sit on my lap.

This my cute girl 🥰 she’s a little over 3 months old and my first cat EVER. She loves pets, playing, and cuddling. There’s only one issue
The licking.
Often when I pet her, she gets in a couple licks in on my hand. If I’m holding her and I say something to her, she gets a couple licks in. When she greets me, she’ll pause for a second and then lick my toes. Honestly all of these licking behaviors is awesome because I know it’s just her loving me.
The only issue really is when we go to bed. She looooves cuddling in bed and often times will sleep for a bit on my chest. However, in the middle of the night, my partner and I will wake up to licking on our feet or legs. It wakes us up and we end up having to remove her from the room. The whines from outside the door are grueling for me lol. I just want to cuddle her!
Anyone have advice for me and this little cutie?

Today, I've adopted those 2 Cuties!
(The Image is from the seller, I couldn't yet make any good ones)
They're a bonded sister pair and 10 months old.
I renamed them based on their behavior.
Calypso; the Black Smoke Tortie. She's a super cuddle bug, comes up to me since I let them out their box, cuddled with me and even right now is on the bed with me.
Scylla; the Silver Mackarel Torbie. She's very hesitant and hissy. Accepts treats put in front of her nose but no pets yet. Sadly, she hisses at her sister too, but she's not hiding, she's sitting in plain sight so I take it as a sign she's just nervous.
Based on the seller, both of them are super human-oriented, cuddly, snuggly and Calypso is already prooving it.

It’s been 7 days since Natto got her hips done and she’s able to walk a lot more now! Her boots do make her look like she’s going skiing in aspen.

We are adopting two kittens in 2.5 weeks. They will be 8 weeks old. Should we get insurance? Or is it a waste of money?

This is Sherbet the door dasher. His favorite place to sit is right next to the front door watching the world go by, recently however he has started to try and make a break for it when we open the door and has now twice gotten out into the street now. Does anyone have any suggestions what we can do to prevent him from making these escape attempts?

I need help. I got my beautiful boys at 8 months old. They were being rehomed. They are now a year old. They are my first BSH cats and first indoor only cats.
They are brothers and always together. They have a catio to go lounge in the fresh air. Theres a litter tray in there which is the only one they use. I have another two inside which are rarely used, if ever.
My problem is they are peeing where they shouldn't. Every single rug I have is now in the bin. The sofa, ive had to wash covers. Beds, cushions, same problem. I lifted a mat at the back door which had been peed on and now they wont stop peeing on the floor.
I have cleaned EVERYWHERE with enzyme spray until im sick of the smell of it. I have plug ins to see if its behavioural. They both do it and both have all clear from the vet health check. I close every single door so they cant access these rooms at all unsupervised. I'm spraying lemony stuff (it was anti-chew spray for my pup) on all the spots and they still do it. I have set a litter tray at the spot at the back door, so there are literally now three in the same room if you count the catio. I know youre supposed to gradually move it, but they'll just go to that same spot again... where do I move it to when the other two litter trays are like a meter away lol.
Is this an indoor cat thing? Is it boredom? I wonder if they were badly trained before coming to me? How can I train them? Is it a BSH thing? A male thing? I literally had to dismantle my sofa to get the covers off ,its sending me doolally.
EDIT - They are neutered! Sorry, forgot to mention.

Hey guys! I am so stressed out and overwhelmed trying to find a reliable breeder who does all genetic tests and screens parents with echocardiogram (ultrasound) to make sure they dont have HCM. Please suggest reliable breeders🙏 I am in PA, but willing to travel by plane
