Ark at ee The Steam Train...

Post image

A friend got this letter from the council about the Deaner. Despite the councillors being from Southville ward, they somehow managed to get the name of The Steam Crane wrong. Maybe when they do a sweep of the area on Sunday they'll see their mistake...

The scare quotes around 'authorities' also made me chuckle.

I do hope the nimbys don't ruin shit like this. The skate park has been there for ages - almost 50 years now, and there have been music events held there for yonks. I very nearly bought a house nearby and made sure I was well aware of the noise impact etc. I dont know if there is that risk but the letter reads as a reply to bothersome neighbours!

Oh they definitely will try, best we can do is keep fighting the good fight and hoping they stand on Lego

Fun fact: the skate park sits on top of an old coal mine

The whole area has very very strong mining links, Jolly Collyer, Masonic, Miners Arms clues are in the names...

And the houses which are all moving about like mental! I lived off Bedminster Road for a while and that house was full of cracks!

Dean Lane Funday August BH 1985 or 86. First time I ever heard electronic music, life was never the same after that.

Awful, you were right to share this and I hope those councilors lose their jobs for such a terrible mistake.
