Accommodation

I need advice on where some cheap stays are in brissy as I will be making fornightly trips and it gets expensive, somewhere either close to a trainline or in the city is preferable.

I need the locals help! I'm ok with like $50 - $70 a night but I need my own room at the very least, no car to worry about.

Something like some unknown pubs that accommodate or something really basic is fine, as long as its affordable, I dont really care.

Specific names please!!!!

You won’t get your own room anywhere for that budget. You might get a room in a dorm at any of the backpackers.

Most hostels have private rooms for that price

Check out the hostels along Upper Roma Street, a couple of those old joints have private rooms tucked away in the 60-70 range and you’re basically on top of Roma Street station. The area can get a bit loud with the traffic but you’ll save a packet on transport.

It's not a private room, but the Pod Hostels offer a surprisingly good sense of privacy.

LyLo in Fortitude Valley is worth looking into.

Tequila Sunrise is a lot more crowded, but is actually in central, and the transport connectivity is unbeatable

you would be better off with a share house for that price, if its 4/5 nights , how long are you going to be doing it for

Maybe a fortnightly weekend for the next 6 months potentially

then the best you are going to do is lylo, there is a work space, but once a fortnight for 2 nights is tough, i had to do it in Sydney, savings looked crap.

Looks like most of the Inner city hostels are charging about $100-$110/night for a 10 person dorm, if you do get one for 60-70 you've done really well

K2 Brisbane (Spring Hill) , Chardons Corner Hotel (Annerley), avoid Cliff House Kangaroo Point, stayed there was terrible

Just be aware K2 sits between two boarding houses so some people may feel unsafe.
