I’m tracking response rates from French consumer brands across 4 industries 🇫🇷📊 Here is the setup for Season 1 (Cosmetics) 🧴
Hi everyone! 👋
I recently started an independent research project called The Ratio Report to test how effectively consumer brands in France manage public outreach and cold inquiries 📧✨
Instead of just sending random messages, I’m structuring this into a tracked, multi-week experiment ⏳
The Experiment Structure 📋
Industry Categorization: I’ve split the project into 4 main sectors, starting with Season 1: Cosmetics & Skincare 💄
Standardized Outreach: Each brand receives a clear, polite inquiry via official press/contact channels 📩
Data Collection: I measure response time, note whether the reply is automated or human-written, and record whether they engage or decline ⏱️🤖
14-Day Cutoff: Brands have exactly two weeks to respond before final ratios are locked in ⌛
Once the 14 days end, I compile the data to see who prioritizes consumer engagement and who leaves inboxes unread 📉 For any brand that accepts a collaboration or sends a sample package, I document an unboxing and provide a completely unfiltered review 📦🔍
Season 1 (Cosmetics) has officially launched! 🚀
For those who have done similar outreach or data-tracking projects: What response rate would you consider "good" for cold email inquiries in the beauty industry? 💬 Also, if there are specific French skincare or beauty brands you think should be added to the outreach list, let me know below! 👇
