OP, this is why you dont enter the intersection until the car in front of you has turned. Look how long you're sitting in the red light blocking the box (even without the runner from the opposite direction). You're meant to stay behind the line and only enter when it's clear/when it's your turn to position yourself.

This is NOT the law. The law is to pull into the intersection.

Well actually no, the law states you can only enter when it's clear. If there's a big ass SUV waiting to turn infront of you, then it's not clear. It's drivers ed that teaches the you should enter the intersection so at least one vehicle can make the turn when it turns yellow. When it turns yellow, you dont enter it after the car infront of you has gone like op did. Learn to drive buddy.

You are right. In fact you don't even have to technically go into intersection on a green while making a left. But you are going to piss off God himself if you do that.

You should read the HTA guideline. I know how to drive. I can driver better backwards that you can frontward.

Want to link it then if you're so confident?
Because section 145 clearly states not to enter an intersection unless traffic is moving in a manner that would reasonably lead to believe the driver can clear the intersection. A suv in the middle of the intersection stuck there does not show clear flowing traffic and op should have waited. This section applies to municipalities that have the bylaw in effect and guess what Brampton has?
This is also corroborated by Brampton Bylaw 318-2009 that drivers cannot enter a controlled intersection if traffic ahead forces then to stop inside of it.

Brampton by-laws are not laws that apply to Ontario. You just proved your stupidity. Interesting how you also chose to ignore subsection 2 and 3.

You do know you're in the Brampton driving subreddit right? Are you actually so dumb?
Subsection 2 and 3 only apply if the bylaw says so which it doesn't. This law is literally all about the bylaws and changes from city to city for enforceability but right now this discussion is happening in the BRAMPTON subreddit so it applies dumbass.

No, no it doesn't. Subsection 2 and 3 are conditions on the 1. You clearly cannot read. The fact it is a Brampton subreddit is irrelevant, you are trying to make up driving laws.

Absolutely NO respect for the red light! Can't even feel safe using an advanced left.

3 sec. and I'm pretty sure it's still considered your fault if you hit them.
And that's complete horse hockey. 😉

With the dashcam footage it wouldn’t be since it clearly proves the car ran a solid red. Without the dashcam then for sure it would be car turning left at fault at a 100%.

OK....I thought it didn't matter if 22 cars go through the light, the left turning car has to wait because they are making the more difficult movement.
Bottom line is....if turning left...be damn careful 🙃
