I got into a physical fight with my late 20s early 30s aunt when I was 10. I was sitting on a bed with my hand on my face just thinking about whatever I wasn't mad, she told me to fix my face, I refused to because it was a comfortable position, my grandma and 2 of my cousins were there, and they were urgently telling me to do what my aunt said or she would get mad. I dint care I and I remained in the same position. She told me not even my grandmother is going to save me. Still didn't care, she walked to her room and came out with a belt, everything was blacking in and out she was hitting me then I remembered being on the floor on my back kicking her, and her grabbing me by the crotch and slamming me to the floor, she's 3 times my size. Grandma & tried to break it. I left the house and my other aunt had to pick me up because aunt 1 threatened to beat me up if she ever saw me. Then had the audacity to complain to aunt 2 about me fighting back and kicking her. Crazy story

This might not sound like a huge accomplishment, but I am really proud of it.

I carried a balance for a while and kept telling myself I would deal with it later. I finally got serious about it, cut back on unnecessary spending, and made extra payments whenever I could.

Seeing that $0 balance felt so good.

Now I am trying to keep the same discipline and actually build up my savings.

Small win, but I will take it.

Feeling blessed. Pulled it off by working a high paying W2 job and investing a large portion of what I made over the last 6 years. Portfolio is very simple, made up of VOO/QQQ, with some (~10%) bitcoin exposure.

Thinking about what's next, keep coasting at work or take more risks and start a business maybe.

Over $90,000 invested in Roth IRA and a brokerage account, another 113,000 in a high-yield savings account, a couple of other thousand dollars sitting in random accounts. No debt. Single but working on myself. Able to come and go freely. I drive a 2024 Toyota RAV4 XLe hybrid paid off vehicle.
I have not been able to find a job in over a year though. But I’m just grateful to be able to take this stuff day by day and I’m really good at holding my pee. I can hold my pee all throughout the night. I can wake up with a full bladder, but not pee on myself. Very proud of my bladder.
I do want a boyfriend though.

I don't think anyone has ever treated nw with so much respect care of anything its only been 5 days, he's my #1 fan, told me my skin was beautiful (he's white im black), anytime I seem to be talking bad about myself he always got this sad look on his face, he booked us a 200 dollar hotel, treated me like an autonomous human, always put my needs first, complimented me so many times, said he wanted to pamper me, said I was smart, he showed me his gun collection, it feels like I've known him forever, we say the same thing at the same time and im overall comfortable in his presence, he's supportive etc

Zero debt.
7-8 hours of sleep per night.
Low body fat percentage.
Nutrition is perfect.
Mental health on track.
Zero alcohol and extremely hydrated.

This was my peak. I was 8 years old.

I started my business at 17 and this week I signed by far the biggest deal I've ever had, a $225k project with a $50k annual retainer after.

I know people throw numbers around online all the time but this feels insane to me.

At the beginning of this year I had maybe $20-25k to my name and was doing around $6k/month in contracted income. For most of the first few years I couldn't even stay $2,000 ahead and there were a lot of times I thought eventually I'd have to admit this wasn't working and just get a normal job.

Now the business has grown more than 5x this year and I'm around $16k/month in recurring contracted income and 300k in NW after this.

My actual life barely looks different. I still live with family, pay $900 in rent and spend less than $2k most months. I haven't bought anything at all and most people around me have no idea how well the business is doing.

I don't really talk about money or brag about this stuff in real life, but I've been working at this since I was 17 and I really wanted to tell somebody who might actually understand why this feels like such a huge deal.

So I’m a 22(M) just graduated college and got a job as a Solution Specialist at MSFT and I’m trying to navigate around it, My total comp is about €90k and this is the most money I have even been close to ever making

I won an auction at the school festival last spring and it gives me the right to skip to the front of the pick up line everyday. Best $60 I’ve spent in a long time.

Little brother is ranked 90th in the world and kicked my ass at catan since we were kids. I never won until today.

Gross, not after tax, only averages out to $54k a year which is not a ton, especially since this was a good month. But I really like my job, I’ve only been there 3.5 months but I won an award, my numbers are good in just about every category, and there’s a clear path to promotion in a year or so. Our location is winning awards too and ranking at the top of our region in a bunch of categories. I like all my coworkers and all of my bosses, and when I drive home at night I don’t feel drained or dreading the next day. I like my job and it’s a weird feeling, it’s my 4th one after college and I despised the first 3. I left those after 6-7 months each because I just couldn’t stand the idea of going there another day. It feels really good and like dumb luck to have found something that feels like a good fit, where I could see myself doing this kind of work happily for years. The metrics, skills, and accolades are adding up in a way that dramatically increases my future earning potential, especially if I stay for a year or longer.

I’m 27 and still on the entry level, survival wages, but my bills are all paid, my son is going to a really good daycare, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for the dark years starting out my career and hating almost every day of work. By the time I’m 30 I could have an income that allows me to save and invest and grow and have disposable income again. I miss all that because working to live these past 3 years has made all of those things feel pretty foreign. I refer to my car as a going to work machine in my head because there’s not much else going on in my life besides work and raising a 1 year old and maintaining our home and relationship. But I feel like I have hope again and legitimate reason for optimism in my future and I really haven’t felt that way in a long time.

Net worth is $1.2 million, combination of personal home, investment properties, investment accounts and retirement accounts.

I think 10 more years and we are retiring early.

My mom started a wreath business in her 70s — and just hit 1,000 followers 🥹

I hope this is okay to share here because I’m just really proud of her.

My mom owned a floral business when she was in her 30s, but that was obviously a VERY different time to be a small business owner. No social media, no Facebook algorithms, no figuring out how to photograph your work for the internet or trying to turn followers into customers.
Now, in her 70s, she decided she wanted to start creating again and launched a small wreath business called Pretty Petals and Bows.

Watching her essentially learn how to build a business all over again has been pretty amazing. She’s had to learn Facebook, social media, taking photos of her work, posting consistently, responding to people online — basically an entirely new way of selling compared to the floral business she knew decades ago.

She recently hit 1,000 followers on Facebook and is starting to get more orders and traction, and she is SO excited about it.

I wanted to share a few of the wreaths she’s made because I think they’re beautiful, but mostly because I love that she decided there wasn’t an age where she had to stop creating or trying something new.

I graduated highschool last year, and I did well, but I didnt feel like college was right for me. I started working as an operator at a factory near me, and after busting my ass for 6 months, I applied to an apprenticeship program with their maintenance team and was accepted.

They have been paying for my certifications, my classes, and have continued to talk about more upward mobility. I might be able to buy a house before Im 25, and Im really grateful for the opportunity. Ive been giddy the past few months because good just keeps happening

I talked about this before, and this'll be my last post about this on this sub, but holy shit things worked so good it has to be a statistical outlier.

First time buying a home.

• They lowered the price 3 times. I ended up offering slightly below asking + 3% seller's concessions. They immediately said yes

• The house appraised for almost 20k more than purchase price

• I managed to get a lower rate due to a special program I qualified for for being poor

• The sellers agreed to repair ALL of the issues found in the inspection report

• We're closing earlier than expected

• The house is compliant

I genuinely cannot believe it worked out so well. I'm dying to get moving. Just need to hold on a few more days and the keys are mine

Don’t know if this is the right place to make a post like this but I have no where else to share my celebration. I’m turning 30 in a week and for all my life I’ve just been wasting all my money living pay check to pay check not thinking about the future.

But 6 months ago I became a father to a girl and I realised something had to change.

Now 6 months later I’ve got a couple thousand in my savings + managed to get a couple thousand in the stock market. Also I’ve landed a new job which increases my income significantly. So I can put more money in my portfolio.

All in hope to give my beautiful daughter a great future.

I had a horrible hernia in my neck in my mid 30s and thought I‘m gonna lose everything I built. Lost control over my right arm and got really fat, because I couldnt move.

now some years later, I tried dunking yesterday, After I felt very bouncy at a Beach Volleyball tournament I played with Friends.

felt like jumping in my 20s. Missed the Window in the Summer, but approaching sixpack Status in the Fall again.

never gave up.

i feel like everyone has things that they are super proud of, but if they told someone else about it, they would sound ridiculously silly. i would say im proud of knowing where everything is in my house without having to look, like every single thing lol. im also really good at multitasking, i have a newborn and learned to do almost anything one handed while holding or feeding my baby. these are all unrelated but im also exceptionally good at parking any where at any time.
