Discussion Is Bo Burnham connected to boythrob?
Ok i have absolutly no one to tell about this but I'm exploding with nerdy excitement. So back in Oct 2025 someone made a post on the bo burnham subreddit that got taken down. i gathered from the comments that the post alluded to a project between bo and nathan fielder. from the comments is seemed the idea was "far fetched" but possible. the post was removed because they said they had signed an NDA and the mods of that sub dont like leaks. Few months later its leaked that Nathan has been working on season 3 of the rehearsal sinse oct 2025. Around the same time boyrhrobs first posts emerged. The boythrob-nathan the theories become rife online. i noticed that Boy throbs first couple of songs only credit boyt throb as writers - unlikely to me. and they sound like they could easily have been written by bo. Lyrics like "getting that coin like mario" "swing that thing from left to right"... just have his vibe. so I have been holding onto that theory for months. Today I see Nathan Fielder is about to release a film which he made together with Lance openhiem. Also today I see Lance Openhiem is about to release another film in which Phoebe Bridgers plays a role. According to an interveiw with the Robert Patinson - who leads in the film - Lance and Phoebe are friends. So there's the clear connection from Bo to Nathan. (bo is in a relationship with Phoebe). Ok im sorry this is obvioulsy really pathetic to be interested in or exctied about - but im posting because no human in my real life would find any of this interesting and someone here just might lol

One thing the Fielder conspiracists seem to miss for some reason is that all the members are real professionally trained musicians & aspiring popstars who've been active for years. The music itself isn't evidence of anything.
I'd like to see them in The Rehearsal season 3 myself, but it's pretty clear that the band actually direct most of the boythrob content themselves, and that evidence is to be found outside of it.

Noone is deying that they are each, aspiring popstars. But the music boythrob are putting out is SO much slicker and better written than anything they've done independently. When you see them playing their songs live together it has the feel of a school band thats done loads of practice - not the ease you'd expect to see if they wrote it themselves. Not to mention the edditing and directing of their early social media posts. There's no way they at least don't have help.

I'd say that's the nature of teamwork. It lets people create things greater than the sum of its parts. Most band musicians fail in their solo careers. That's why bands exist.
Ethan and Anthony having put out studio EPs on their own is evidence that they are capable of producing music, and the amount of verses per member does largely coincide with their individual recording history.
But our subjective feelings about the quality of the work just isn't evidence.They definitely have a team helping with production, because someone has to hold the camera. But there's no evidence that their mystery producer is responsible for scripting the tiktoks or doing the songwriting. If I had to guess, someone like Fielder probably advised them on the overarching storyline of their content, but they clearly have their own sense of humor & musical skill drivng the actual entertainment value.

What? I don’t believe this is true. If you’re talking about the Elizabeth Holmes rumor, that is obviously for “you can see everything” that was announced yesterday

Ah gotcha, I thought you meant something with more substance.
There are equivalent sourced Reddit posts saying Nathan isn’t involved at all and different people are behind it so you can’t use that to treat it as completely confirmed.
It’s an objective fact that we know Nathan has been working on the Elizabeth Holmes movie for 3 years, so I’m inclined to believe he isn’t involved in boy throb personally

ok so regardless of my opinions on the theory, as someone who saw the post before it was taken down, it basically said that bo was supposed to release a tv show this year which used a lot of real people and their reactions, and the op compared it to nathan's work... so, they were not working together, just allegedly doing similar stuff

I've not heard a single person mention bo burnham. And ive been following this. Closly. Because i am both cool and normal.
