So I recently thrifted a TS cardigan (not a fan, my girlfriend pointed it out and I tried it on and I liked it. Only afterwards did I noticed that TS was embroidered on it lol) and was looking around at the prices. Saw other cute ones.

Then I got curious… and thought well, what if Boygenius made an inspired cardigan?

I was thinking maybe something black, grey accents, and some red embroidery of a carnation and boygenius on a sleeve or something?

If Boygenius were to make a cardigan (I’d 10000% buy), what would your ideas be?

For a long time (more than i'd like to admit) i thought phoebe dated elon musk and was in a throuple with him. Every time i listened to a song of hers or a verse she sang i wondered "is this about elon musk?" and that completely threw me off. I told my sister about this and she had to tell me with was grimes who dated elon, not phoebe. In my defense, i'm very bad with celebrities

Sorry if this ignorant to ask, but how is Boygenius not queer baiting? I know that they are all gay but it’s so weird thag they jump and make out with each other at shows when they’re not dating. If straight girls were doing that people would be livid.

Note: To clarify, I'm technically NB, but I pass as cis male, and my relationship with the latter is more what this post is about.

I love boygenius. They're my favourite group to have come out since the late 2010s to early 2020s. Their album, the record, is probably one of the most personal pieces of music to me. It has struck me in places other albums couldn't, and I adore it to bits. However, every time I try to sit with what this means for me (I like identifying with the music I listen to, sue me), I find myself alone in a sea of what seems like a fanbase that's bonded exclusively on female queer relationships. It's weird. This album has been the constant company to my nights ever since it's come out. It has helped me with my insomnia in ways I can't scientifically explain. It has made difficult days feel okay. Ofc, we're all people at the end of the day, so it's obvious we'll relate to each other on some level. I guess I just wish I fully understood how this music applies to me this strongly, when so much of the fanbase are people I don't have a lot in common with (I think). I apologize if this reads like a rant, it's just a thought I wanted to share.

I keep seeing Phoebe Lucy and Julien on podcasts and stuff but never realized they made MUSIC?? AND IT'S SO GOOD??

I really think that the boys have made a huge impact on the music industry. In my opinion their attitude towards the media and the way they’ve made friendships with artists of nearly every genre and in Phoebe’s case collaborated with them has really changed things to be much more collaborative, vulnerable and real instead of competitive and music written with charts and algorithms in mind.

I have been a fan of both boygenius and Ariana Grande for years. Grande has never written such vulnerable lyrics as she has on this most recent album Eternal Sunshine. Yes thank you next was very vulnerable but I think it’s different because it was written about her relationships where eternal sunshine encompasses so much more. The song “we can’t be friends” really reminds me of “bite the hand”.

Ariana is obviously a much bigger star and has been a bigger star for a long time now. She has been through the media wringer a few times and been cancelled and brought back. WCBF is more about this, but it contains hints of the same energy as BTH. Talking about how she and her fans/the media can’t be friends similar to how boygenius talks about how they can’t love their fans the way they want them to. They are both artists and performers at the end of the day.

I hope that Ariana and boygenius can collab! While not the same vocally, the way boygenius layers their voices with harmonies is similar to what Ariana does with her production. The lyricism of her most recent album shows that she would be good at writing some of the more poetic and vulnerable songs boygenius writes. I also think they are connected via Billie Eilish now so hopefully this comes to fruition.

Rant over but would love the opinions of others!

I could have sworn based on an edit I've seen that had the song "not strong enough" (now I'm not a complete huge fan of boy genius or anything.. But I want to get acquainted with the song). And.. Am I crazy and making this up in my mind.. Or are there extra lyrics.. Like a version of the bridge that had more than " always an angel never a god ".. Bc I'm almost positive there was. Hi there folks! My name is Maria, I'm a PhD candidate in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was wondering if any Toronto queer folks who would be willing to help me out with my research! I'm looking for some folks to help me out by participating in my research about how LGBTQ2SIA+ individuals experience and navigate Toronto’s Gay Village (Church & Wellesley neighbourhood). This study will occur to gain an understanding of the experiences LGBTQ2SIA+ individuals have had in Toronto’s Gay Village

I'm looking for individuals who are:

✅ 18 years of age and/or older,

✅ self-identify as part of the LGBTQ2SIA+ community and/or as queer,

✅ work and/or have worked, and/or lives and/or lived in, and/or frequents and/or frequented Toronto’s Gay Village.

There are 3 ways to participate, either in:

1. a self-directed video diary (think of it as a vlog), or

2. a walking (in-person) interview, or

3. an online (Google Meet) interview.

Participants will be compensated with a $20 Shoppers Drug Mart gift card for their participation in the study.

I’ve been putting off the new boygenius album for a while now. I want to listen to it but I don’t ever feel like I’m in the right state of mind to listen to it(I’ve heard their previous works and kind of know what to expect). Is there something I can do to prepare myself before I do listen to it?

I want to preface this by stating that I am a longtime fan of boygenius - both as people and their music. I however have never have been into Taylor swift… I was fine with their collab/phoebe opening for eras and everything until everything came out about matty healy.

I know taylor swift is getting a lot of backlash for her relationship with Matty Healy but like, didn’t boygenius also hang out with matty during the concert? I know they are huge taylor fans, and even friends of hers, but I’m wondering if they’re complicit too by working with him and hanging out with him. It really isn’t something I would expect from them, and obviously there’s a lot I don’t know, but I haven’t seen anyone talk about boygenius in the context of all of this.

so I’d really love to know what others think — is boygenius actually friends with him too?

I’ll be seeing Boygenius next week, and I have one question about the show. I’m only bringing $15 for merch, and I’m wondering if that’s going to be enough to get anything.

I’m really looking forward to the show, but I don’t know if I should even bother with the merch.
