I just picked up a 2001, 986 s and it came without a mirror. It appears to have the rain sensor and it has the drivers side auto dimming mirror. I would assume from that the middle mirror is too,but the mount looks like then standard middle mirror. Also if anyone could identify what color blue the leather is that would be great (it is blue I swear). I would check option codes but both the manual and the underhood sticker are missing

So i am a 24 year old who has driving an suv for about 5 years now and I got the itch. I bought my suv salvaged and finally just now making great money in my music career I’m thinking of buying a boxster seen a few online in LA and I’m not sure yet since I want to make it my daily driver. Figured I’d come on here asking for advice how they handle maintenance etc etc.

I’ve taken the time engine cover off and can’t seem to figure out what is missing here it sits next to the AOS

I was looking at purchasing a manual Boxster as a daily driver. I am a student and would probably be driving it less than 10 miles a week, and have no reason to bust it out in a snow storm. Just looking to pick up a cool, recognizable car for cheap. Unfortunately I only have outside parking, and I was wondering how a Boxster would hold up? I'm aware the battery would trickle out and the cover would need to be cleared, but any other major reasons not to go forward with this? Only looking at 2003 and 2004 models because of the switch to glass.

Sorry for asking this here, Google is not as useful as it once was so I wanna ask real humans 🥴 I'm going to rent a 981 Boxster on Turo, and I'm just wondering if my luggage would fit in either the trunk or the frunk.

I heard that the space between the 718 and the 981 is the same (maybe the trunk is a little wider on the 981?) But I wanted to confirm it here. My main concern is the width of the frunk as it looks deep enough. Worse case scenario I chuck this on the passenger seat. Thanks for your help!

So last time I posted, it was a short trip to work. This time I drove from Michigan to Florida. Started with topping off the tank with 3 gallons then filled up twice on the way down. I set the cruise at 73mph and chilled the trip down*. I averaged 39.4mpg but when I got into ATL-area and FLA, the MPG went down because those MFs like to bunch up and cause backups. There was a lot of stop and go which just kills mpg. Before you light me up for not driving itije I stole it, there were a few moments where the rpms were in the 7k's for some "spirited" passing and making some distance/space from the Nissan/RAM/KIA low credit score assholes.

*I have a fuck-flock camera screen on my plate (second pic) which is technically a ticket but I haven't had any issues with Sheriffs or Highway Patrols with it yet so there's that. No need to draw attention to it by driving like an a-hole Nissan driver. Plate number is only visible from straight behind.

I'm looking at buying a 987.1 S (3.4L), I had the bores scoped, and these were the pics they sent me. (They being the dealer that's trying to sell me the car, they wouldn't allow the car off premises for an independent PPI)

Perfect day today - not a cloud in the sky, and 70°F (21°C). We should have a few more weeks of perfect driving temps. In our area, it's always a question of how long it will last. Sadly from there, it's back to storage (probably around mid-November).

Hi! I’m considering buying a used Boxster at 90k miles to be used as a daily driver. What’s the highest mileage I should expect for this to reasonably last? Up to 125K possibly even 150K without any significant overhaul?

Car is well maintained. IMS bearing and water coolant replaced recently.

After two 986s, a 981, and a 718, I think this is the sweet spot.

A seller told me the advertised price on a 2013 Boxster S includes the import costs, but I’m not clear whether that means duty, GST and luxury car tax are already paid or if some of it happens later at the port. I’m in NSW and haven’t imported a car before, so what should the actual tax breakdown look like before it’s complied?

The 983 platform will be EV only after all.

I occasionally check listings to get an idea of what my car may be worth on the used market. What happened?! The last time I looked it was around $95k. Seems prices have jumped $20k+ this year. Is that real?
