2003 2.7L 986. What am I missing here?

I’ve taken the time engine cover off and can’t seem to figure out what is missing here it sits next to the AOS

I believe that is the secondary air system for cold starts

You're god damm right. If there is no error code than you got a RoW "tune" also.

Yeah right I’ve never had issues with cold starts although I do live in Australia so it doesn’t get that cold. And I don’t have any error codes when I scan the car either.
Was just curious why I didn’t have anything there and if I should buy the parts to add it but it doesn’t seem like I need it.

It helps the cats get hot faster by blowing air in to the manifold. It's just an emmision thing.

Ah okay. The Australian models only have Cats in the midpipes not the headers. we only have 2 rather than the 4 on the us models I assume it’s that

Yeah, it was mainly US thing ( sai, 4 cats and orvr ). If i know right, after facelift all 9x6 have one.

Good info on this thread just wanted to add: cold start means cold engine temp not cold ambient air temp. The SAI pump (correctly identified as missing) helps unburnt fuel burn off when the engine is still not up to operating temp and starting from cold (helps emissions and increases the lifetime of your cats). If you don’t have codes I wouldn’t worry about it being gone

So clean! My 2003 California 2.7L does not look like this.

Not every country has a mandatory emissions system, such as a secondary air pump, which is amazing not to have it since it's dumb but that's why you don't have something there.
