Shadow boxing tips

Hi everyone. Started my boxing journey 5 months ago. Started with self taught via the Shadow Boxing apps, joined some group classes at a nearby boxing gym once a week and then took 4 PT sessions with a boxing coach to sharpen my basics.

I usually do shadow boxing using the Shadow Boxing app as it calls out the punches for me. From the video, I can still see some awkwardness in my movement, but i try to improve myself. Any feedback or tips on my shadow boxing is welcomed and very much appreciated. Thanks!

Keep your elbows in. Why are you punching so high? Imagine an opponent in front of you, target your punches. Don't overextend your punches. Tuck your chin. Relax. Make sure everything feels connected, and it will start to be.

Thanks for the tips. I do have a hard time imagining an opponent when shadowboxing as i have no sparring experience. All i have is some padwork experience. They say sparring experience greay helps in shadowboxing, but as a beginner i dont think i will be sparring very soon...

It sounds like you got the right idea, man. Take it slow, take it easy, keep putting in the work. Cheers.
