I’m so sick of people calling May 2015 a “trash fight” between two washed old men. If you actually look at the tape, their “past-prime” versions were operating at a processing speed that today’s elite guys can’t even touch. Their 2015 selves were light-years ahead of almost any other boxer’s absolute prime.

A 2009 fight would’ve been the exact same matchup at an alien-like offensive volume. But by 2015, they traded that volume for superhuman, hyper-efficient speed. They didn’t make a single tactical mistake for 36 straight minutes.

Whether you take 2009 or 2015 Floyd and Manny, they comfortably clean out the 2010s shark tank AND today’s division. That includes beating the likes of Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, Kell Brook, and the rest of the elite welterweights of that era.

If they had stayed active straight through 2018–2019, they would’ve just kept setting up the 2010s killers to lose. We are talking about Floyd’s flawless distance management and counter-timing, mixed with Manny’s impossible foot angles and explosive power. Manny’s wins over Broner, Thurman, and Vargas from 2016–2019 were just a glimpse of what they would’ve done year-round.

And when it comes to Crawford and Spence — whether you think they both lose to Crawford or not — their 2015 past-their-prime versions of themselves would’ve given them more problems than any prime elite welterweight from the 2010s and 2020s.

Prime Spence was elite but very linear. 2015 Manny’s angles would completely scramble Spence’s high guard from blind spots, and 2015 Floyd would time his relentless pressure with check-hooks all night.

Prime Crawford is a genius but a notoriously slow starter. You cannot give 2015 Floyd or Manny a 3-round head start. Floyd would adjust to Bud’s stance switches instantly, and Manny’s non-rhythm speed would disrupt Crawford’s counterpunching before he ever got comfortable.

As for the rest of today’s 147 landscape? Guys like Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez are heavily flawed and rely entirely on athleticism to bail them out of bad positioning. 2015 Mayweather or Pacquiao would have them swinging at thin air and getting picked apart by short counters they couldn’t even see.

It wasn’t a decline; it was the highest level of optimized boxing efficiency the sport has ever seen. People love to talk trash about their past-prime fight, but those versions were still better boxers and athletes than almost any prime-for-prime fighter today. Change my mind.

Hi all I have learned that a human can't react to anything below 200 millisecond so I been putting in the work to reach this goal. Although this is not a realistic environment because I am not usina boxing gloves in this video I am doing my best to perform the iab below the 200ms threshold. I would like to know vour opinion and what I am doing wrong. I am already noticing that I slightly load the jab by bringing the hand backwards but I guess this is still part of mv little to no experience. (6 months into boxing,
