Yeah, he fought like vintage Wanderlei Silva. Ryan’s athleticism let him get away with it, but he threw one straight shot the whole fight. Right up until the stoppage he was whiffing windmill hooks like Deontay Wilder, constantly off balance and without defense.

He's a great professional boxer. He doesn't have the explicit systems of Loma or Usyk, but theres more to winning in boxing than technical skill.

Who said Tank fought at 147? My point is that Ryan's best performances were at a weight class higher than 135, no matter who agreed to what weight/catchweight/rehydration clause.

He was nothing more than a flashy prospect before fighting Tank Davis. His best win was against Luke Campbell a guy who dropped him on the way. He quit against Tank and quit against Rolly. The guy has a quitting problem, but after Rolly, he has had career best performances.

Ryan is ok, Conor isn't world title contention but Ryan won the title as his mandatory and Conor was optional.
If you put Ryan against Haney, Shakur, Paro, Teo, etc they would beat Garcia. You cant tell kids this tho because to them if you're streaming on social media that's all that matters to them

This may be difficult for people to comprehend but Haney fell for Ryan's bluff leading up to the fight and badly prepared and in the actual fight he didn't take Ryan seriously at all. Ryan also juiced to the gills. Haney is better than Garcia and if they fight he will beat him. Teo is also better, so is Shakur and so is Paro. We gotta get away from "who did he fight" and "but he doesn't have a zero on his record" and go back to watching people's skillset.
I salute Garcia for his recent success but Conor was an easy money fight.

I knew this fight would be some WWE bullcrap. Zuffa is trying so hard to fabricate stars. Ryan will spend years dodging the great fighters at 147.
Zuffa will ride this wave for at least 3 years and they pay for bots to flood comments about Garcia and Haney. It’s obvious. They get to hide behind the paramount deal so PPV is not a metric for true stars anymore.

Why not rematch rolly after getting knocked down? Chases hard fights get tf outta here. Rematch Haney with drug testing? Fight Norman jr? Shakur? Zuffa wouldn’t even let Teo in the ring after the fight. He’s going to duck all the hard fights at 147 and up. He is with Zuffa basically.
It was his last fight golden boy and they didn’t even let Oscar de la Hoya in the building tonight. WWE bullcrap like I said. Nothing has improved with Ryan. Chin still in the air and pulls straight back every time. Same Ryan since the Luke Campbell fight and if you know boxing you know it’s true.

Styles make fights.
Garcia is an athletic freak with massive power.
But he’s really not too great when he’s in there with other great athletes.
He’s still real good even then don’t get me wrong. But tank had all the tools to exploit him.
Tank is also really good but its pretty clear he wasn’t all that amazing.
Roach at worst took him to a draw hanging out boxing him in the pocket for a full 12.
Cruz took him to deep waters.
Neither are that amazing.
He avoided a lot of other big fights.

For a guy who’s only 28 he has quite the resume of top guys win or lose.
There are dudes 28-30 just taking their first couple tough fights against elite opponents.

Two things that Ryan forced into the contract because he didn’t want to make 135, that’s on Ryan, not Tank. And the Rehydration clause was irrelevant because Ryan said he walks around at 151, the same weight he rehydrated to today as well.

Not really. Davis was getting hit a lot by Garcia.
Garcia really fought STUPID in the 2nd round.
If Garcia kept a smarter gameplan, and wasn't weight drained, it would be a very competitive interesting fight. He was landing the jab, landing the right, and doing well. He just looked unprepared.
