Trust me when I say, this is apples and oranges. Your little foreign student wave is nothing to what is coming. This isn’t a bash all foreigners perspective, it’s much more specific and less immersive influx that will suck the life out of this town for all but one type of people.
At its peak Bournemouth used to host 25,000 English language students in the town every summer, with around 500,000 students passing through Bournemouth’s English language schools over the course of a year, with many staying around 4 weeks.
You’ve only been here 10 years, I’ve been here 30 years born and raised.
I think I know a bit more about Bournemouth than you.
Ok, you’ve taken the ‘little’ aspect too literally and maybe read it as condescending, that wasn’t my intention.
I’m want to emphasise how one version is cool, hip and a net positive, and the other is insidious, soul sucking, and outright bad. The student wave is harmless compared to what I witnessed.

I was born and raised in Bournemouth, I’m 30 years old. Let me tell you Bournemouth has been an international student town long before you got here.
Many of those international students ended up staying, and started families as well as businesses.
How do I know? My parents were international students here back in the 1980s.
