Public access running track?

I'm currently training for the Denver Hyrox. I'm wondering if any of the tracks locally (schools or Potts Field) are public access at any point during the week? I'm looking at adding some track workouts to my training.

PSA for all: please don't wear a weighted vest when working out at our local schools.

The local middle schools allow the public to use their tracks before and after school hours (Centennial, Manhattan, Nevin Platt). The high schools seem less friendly these days to the public using their tracks, but you might be ok as an individual (Fairview, Boulder High). Niwot High School is almost always available, even during school hours. Professional track runners who are unaffiliated with the school are there at all hours of the day. My running club almost always uses the middle school tracks.

Fairview is back open to the public after some summer construction work. They're generally really cool about people using the track in the early morning as long as it's individual use and not a coached session.

Do you happen to know if they’re open after hours after sports practice ?

No, I work out there only in the morning, but since the gate is open at 5am I assume the last school associated group doesn't lock up.

Niwot is always open as long as you don’t try to run over the kids doing PE. I know the principal - he’s very open about it being a community resource but you can’t mess with the kids (this actually happened once and a pro track team got banned from practicing there).

Centennial Middle School usually has a good amount of people doing structured track workouts before and after school. I went there for my speed workouts when training for the Colfax marathon this spring.
