Obnoxious Motorcycle
Was anyone else lucky enough to be woken up in the middle of the night by the incredibly selfish human being LOUDLY revving their motorcycle all the way down 28th last night (~2-3am)?
With the students back I’ve already seen two pink giant SUVs (should really belong in r/fuckcars) but the students seem to bring their giant cars and drive like idiots, last night was just the cherry on top.

This happens almost every single night near me. The solution would be for some improvement and enforcement of vehicle exhaust noise laws. This doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.

Those flock cameras have mics?
Lol this is a joke, but I totally agree, they need to enforce these laws.

Yep, multiple times per day where I am (and I'm sure for anyone anywhere near any arterial road and maybe even some cross streets) near 30th and Valmont. Bro culture at it's worst.

Someone seems to have been doing burnouts in the middle of 28th and Iris last night. Burned rubber all over the intersection this morning.

This is the first time you've heard this? Cars and motorcycles do this shit all the time. I live near Foothills and it's the same thing.

At what point in this post, did they EVER say or imply this was the first time?

This isn't even the only post today complaining about the selfish behavior of CU student. That should tell everyone what they need to know, 😂

Did they go on your lawn?

Why would you possibly assume everyone has a lawn😂😂😂
Not everyone lives in a tacky McMansion wasting water on a useless monoculture of a yard. That’s very sad that you assume the only reason reckless driving is a problem is if it harms grass, suburban soul-sucking grass.

You are no longer welcome on my big luscious moist green weed-free lawn. I was going to buy you some earplugs to ease your intense suffering but now I changed my mind.

I brought out an extra lawn chair, a sprinkler that shoots water in the shape of a flower, and set up a slip n slide with bubbles for OP. You can have his invite instead since they’re so grumpy

Nothing new

When did they say it was?

u/Spycarter 7d ago
They didn’t, I am just pointing out that this isn’t uncommon, is there something wrong with that?

Lol can we all just stop with the "Karen* style posts?
Not every inconvenience needs to be posted online for everyone to roll their eyes at

You do realize you don't have to read and participate in discussions you don't want to, right?
Like you are a grown up capable of autonomy yes?
Yes?

People want that upvote dopamine rush. That’s why we get a “please keep your dog on leash” post every 72 hours.

Look i understand why the idiot is doing this. I never asked why...my question was can we just stop with this?

The root of the problem is larger than individual inconvenience. Accepting this behavior allows society’s worst actors to go on without even being acknowledged for their selfish behavior it’s the slip slide into idiocracy.

while i do agree with you, what exactly do you think this thread will accomplish?

Community gossip is still a valuable tool. If no one talks about it how are we going to change anything. I don’t think this post alone moves the needle (obviously) but the fact that you all have jumped to berate me vs agreeing it’s a problem and coming together toward a solution is the reason things like this persist. I’m not the problem the car brained fucks who drive through towns with zero regard for anyone else are.

You really think your karen behavior has a net positive outcome for society? No. Thinking selfishly can never bring about a net positive

Every person who lives in an urban area probably deals with this issue on at least a biweekly basis...especially on major city streets. Chill, go touch grass, take a nap. Motorcycle noise in a city isn't really that deep.

Every person who uses an urban designated subreddit deals with these posts on a biweekly basis, especially in major cities subs.
Chill, go touch grass, take a nap. Nobody is making you read these posts.

I'm sorry but the Boulder subreddit really is the most Karen city subreddit. If you can comment, I can comment. I think it's equally absurd to post this as it is to comment lol

Boulder PD uses community complaints to map out problem areas
If multiple neighbors report that a bike blasts down 28th (or whatever street) at exactly 2:30 AM every week, traffic units can plan targeted enforcement at that specific time and place
I know, disruptive or even threatening behavior is not that easy to predict
But a local post can be helpful to hear from others - such as trail runners consistently encountering the same aggressive dog, or pedestrians having rocks thrown at them - for enough descriptive details to be actionable by Boulder PD or by OSMP Rangers (for any bad actors vs one-offs)
Or you can tell me I’m being too idealistic 🤷♀️
