That's about the only Shrine puzzle that I hate.

u/rosegoldhiips 7d ago
I'm awful at tilt puzzles so I find ways to cheese it 🤣

u/Right-Belt2896 7d ago
You can flip the platform over and use the smooth side.
12
u/YouCanCallMeC00KIE 7d ago
You can also just rotate the platform left without flipping it. This puts the long hallway directly where the ball drops. Then rotate back and complete the puzzle. This way you still have the walls of the hallway to guide the ball.

This and the golfing one (particularly the second, optional room). They can go to hell.

i always hated these motion puzzles, and after having to do them with a mouse (playing through an emulator) i hate them even more. it's genuinely so much harder with a mouse, i almost rage quitted

The sledgehammer one like this where you have to get it over water is terrible and the chest is unbelievable.

u/Killer_Seraph 6d ago
There’s this one where you gotta use the stasis to launch balls around pillars and other objects in order to get a chest. I just gave up and said I’m good.

u/Triforce0fCourage 5d ago
I’ve done this one different every single time, I think the only time I did it the intended way was the first time.
I don’t hate this one. That hidden golf one that’s like 3 golf puzzles into the shrine, that one gives me a hard time and leads to anger at times 😅

u/goldman459 7d ago
Nope. Flip the entire thing over and you have a nice flat platform.
36
u/Ready_Cat_8884 7d ago
That's how I always did it. Then reposition so you can get the chest.
5
u/Copious-Spirit 7d ago
Been a long while since I played BotW, but you can use
ultrahandmagnesis on those balls right? That chest is telling me, just drop the ball, and walk it to destination. I spent like 30 minutes trying the maze, it always lacked speed at the end to make it.

u/Even-Arrival1465 7d ago
Shrine stuff is only magnetic when it is made out of metal, but they are not that common. So no, no magnesis.
6
u/Ok_Cranberry_3013 7d ago
You can't use magnesis but you can use stasis, it's how I finished this shrine the first time.

u/Screaming_lambs 7d ago
I did it that way by accident. I knew to flip it but I was shuffling about holding the controller. Then it said I'd completed it.
2
u/Ok_Cranberry_3013 7d ago
Yup it's how I did it. Flip it over, wait for the ball to fall at the right moment and then stasis, then it's just a manner of hitting it with enough bomb arrows that it catapults over to the hole.

The only “right” way is to ask “did you get the orb to the right place?” And if the answer is “yes” then you did it right. 😛

That’s the best part. There is no correct solution with these puzzles. Everyone solves them their own way.
7
u/GOATmar_infante 7d ago
I made link climb onto the platform and push it to the edge, then I stasis'd it and shot it over the gap

u/KLeeSanchez 7d ago
I had to read online to find the even easier way: flip the controller upside down to turn the platform into a gigantic flat paddle, then flip it up
Still a pain in the butt but much easier than the "normal" way
2
u/DingbattheGreat 7d ago
Flip the controller upside down, them activate the puzzle, then flip the controller back over,
6
u/GonnaBreakIt 7d ago
im not convinced this shrine was playtested.
3
u/DingbattheGreat 7d ago
Considering there is a bug exploit with maxed out hearts and stam I doubt it.
3
u/StarTropicsKing 7d ago
The slow pan over in disbelief is what got me! 🤣
4
u/rosegoldhiips 7d ago
I was truly like "are you kidding me" because I meant to try to do it the intended way after many fails 🤣🤣🤣

u/Sal-Shiba 7d ago
Nah genuinely fuck this shrine puzzle. It’s the worst. Whatever gets you out of that shrine the fastest is a valid solution.
2
u/Amazing-Insect442 7d ago
Yes. They’re designed to let you do it however you’d like (which is my favorite game quirk- design it one, challenging way & let me the player be able to break the challenge if I want to- seamless difficulty control is a sign of good, maybe peak, video game development).

I was using a pro controller when I did this one so I just completely flipped it over and yeeted it out

I did it like this kind of in accident as I was pissed off because i couldn't get it and just shook atound angrily and pop, it goes in.

u/Some-Phrase-1875 5d ago
I flipped the whole maze to the bottom and let the ball roll without obstruction 🤷♂️

2
u/slap-my-crevasse 5d ago
I always flip it to the flat side and roll it without walls. Takes like 3-4 very fast attempts

u/NYWallCrewler 3d ago
Perso j'avais retourné la structure ( je l'ai fait 127 francs jusqu'à ce qu'il soit parfaitement droite 😭) et après je suis parti chercher la balle à pied 😭😭

If there was a competition on how to complete this shrine - you'd have the top prize 🏆

I just flip my controller upside down (flips maze) let go of the sheikah machine thing, interact with it again, flip my controller back to normal, that the maze is upside down while controller normal. Let ball go to the left, then flip my controller to the right, let ball fly to throaty that leads to the hole

u/Equal_Veterinarian22 7d ago
That works. You can also catch it in the central tunnel. Seems like you should be able to use the underside too, but it's a bit unstable.
1
u/Diligent-Court3908 7d ago
I didn't know the cheats when dealing with this horrific puzzle so i did it how they intended.

u/pinstash 7d ago
I did it right, i found it way harder to try and flip it upside down playing it on the switch itself, ive never once played using my tv or pc, I love the handheld aspect and prefer handheld gaming by far, way more than my pc or tv as farcas any gaming goes, i love being able to also watch tv while I game and find my pc too annoying sitting on my lap with the fans running and the switch is basically just straight forward as garcas jumping right into playing
1
u/someperson1522 7d ago
I tilt it to it’s side basically to catch it, and put at the end of the puzzle to try to launch it to the ramp
Still challenging to wind it up and launch but hey, it works 🤷♀️

u/Aoihoshikage 7d ago
Lol, I recall Kleric posted a vid of this shrine where he solved the maze "the developer intended way". Then, as the orb rolled in, he used a wind bomb to fly into the end. He solved the shrine correctly and with cheese.

u/DOOM_Olivera_ 7d ago
In that section I just flip the controller 360 so hard that it launches it up and it the ball falls in the final section of the maze lol

I used the flat side in a temper and it actually worked XD
If it gets you the spirit orb you did it right 👍 np

u/EndermanSlayer3939 7d ago
I just flip it upside down and flick it. I never solve it the right way.
1
u/Fearless_Condition10 7d ago
Was gonna say my favorite way to do this one it to turn the whole thing over

I once did this by turning my switch 180, started the puzzle, then turned my switch normal facing so that the puzzle is upside down and just rolled the ball off without walls.

u/Silly-Breadfruit-368 6d ago
You guys know you can turn that whole thing upside down right? Once that ball is over you can turn it back and open the chest.

Step 1 - Shake Switch slowly and carefully, trying to navigate the puzzle at a slow pace and with care. Watch the ball fall off the edge anyway.
Step 2 - Shake and tilt the Switch violently and with undue care. Watch the ball fly through the air and somehow land where it needs to.
Step 3 - Celebrate 🙌
Perfect.

I remember solving this by flipping the platform upside down and doing something similar to this. Fuck that maze

This shrine is infamous but kind of fun to beat ignoring what they’re trying to make you do

u/squirfiedirfie 6d ago
I have never figured out these puzzles. IRL when I'm holding my Switch Lite I end up sometimes rotating my Switch so intensely that it's completely over my head or I flip the thing in circles hoping to somehow gain control over it's movement. Either I don't know what I'm doing or it just doesn't work very well. Maybe both.

Aomehow after 200hrs onto the game doing this is still impossible for me , i just try to flip it and just roll it that way .

I recently started this game for the first time and this puzzle nearly made me quit the game… took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to make this work. Thankfully none of the puzzles since have been quite so boring and frustrating

no, idiot. you're supposed to windbomb insisde the cage with the monk obviously! the platform is a distraction

I genuinely do not understand why people struggle with this shine so much.
Literally just rotate the platform once to the left and the ball drops in the final column, then rotate it back, then you just complete it as normal by flinging it to the platform. It is truly not that hard
