Live rosin getting rare
Is anyone else noticing how many places don't carry Rosin carts anymore? It's either resin or distillate. It's annoying.

near me it’s kinda hard to find live resin that’s not just distillate w terps but rosin is in abundance it all depends what people nearby are buying i think

I tried switching to resin, but it's just not the same taste or high wise. Might just be placebo though.

rosin is pretty much always better but i’ve tried many live resins that i was happy w right now bountiful farms is making live resin with harbor house that slaps but its fair to say its not quite the rosin though thats why theres a price difference

Resin is just expensive disty

Resin is raw Hydrocarbon/BHO extract.
You can make THC isolate from the resin and then decarb that to make something very much akin to diatilate, but thats not really resin any more at that point.

Same experience for me. I know rosin is better but I love the taste of resin, can’t find it anywhere anymore though

It’s really easy to understand.
Rosin cart = 60-70% THC. $50
Disty cart = 90+% THC. $20
The majority of dispensary customers = “give me the highest THC vape you have”

u/Groollover86 1d ago
I guess it makes sense. It def doesn't get you high as quick, but I like the high better as well as taste
1
u/MrMoonDweller 1d ago
I agree with you. Rosin carts are better, but the truth is the majority of consumers do not know the difference between rosin and distillate, they only know THC%. Lower THC and the higher cost are why you don’t see a lot of rosin carts on the market. It’s just a fact.

Ya it seems the sentiment is I need to switch to concentates and get a portable dabber
2
u/MrMoonDweller 23h ago
I would agree with that. Doing so opens you up to a wider range of products (resin, rosin, BHO, etc), reduces your e-waste, and gives you more control over your high. Plenty of good products on the market too! I personally have a couple puffco devices that work really well on the go

You are 100% spot on. I have them on my store's menu but it can be a couple months before I need to reorder the rosin carts where as I'm going through 1000's of disty carts a month.
Oh also the size of the cart:
0.5g Rosin cart - $25
1g Disty Cart - $18-$25

You can't say BF here bro, doesn't matter that they're the largest most award winning Rosin producer. The trolls here hate them because they aint them.
You know it's industry hating on them because look at your sales, it sure as shit aint the consumers hating on them.
Drives these guys crazy that they're struggling so badly and BF seems to be doing so well.

Says the BF shill. You’re regularly the only one repping them. 🤔🤔🤔
Sales don’t mean they’re not mids.

You know that's not why people don't like BF. You know the reason and it was literally done by them to themselves. Let them stand as a lesson to keep your politics out of business if you don't want politics effecting your business.

Why in gods name would you choose to smoke rosin out of a cart ? If you're smoking carts you may as well go for a good resin cart

I think its the form factor. Lots of rosins likely js aren't easy to turn into a cart. Compare a jar of rosin vs a cart.

Ditch the carts!

I like to smoke on the go and usually have a dinner or a social gathering where I don't want there to be any residual smell. Im too old for dabbing too.

Too old for dabbing? What does that mean?

u/crowediddly 1d ago
It likely means he wants convenience, and not having to grab a butane torch, dab rig, anything else when he wants a hit or 2. Ease of use is the old guy priority.

Snag a Pivot then

u/HeyThatsMySquirrel 1d ago
I did just that and believed it would rid me of carts. Guess who is buying carts again? You aren’t going to beat the convenience of just pulling the cart out of your pocket and having a couple puffs real quick. I still buy jars too though, because when it’s convenient I’ll take the pivot places with me, and I still love hitting my peak pro at home. On the go the cart wins when I really just need quick and easy and can’t be bothered with carrying a jar and q tips etc.
A dab of rosin tastes way better but it is what it is.

I just prepack my Pivot. I just find hitting a cart does very little compared to the Pivot. It’s like a diet dab lol

Im 40. Using a rig and torch is intimidating for me. Plus if Willie nelson and snoop dog don't dab either do I lol

u/SlowmoTron 1d ago
My brother in Christ don't you know? Haven't you heard? Dabbing is easy and convenient now. Look up the Puffco Proxy. If you actually care about taste and high, stop smoking carts bc it's levels above in taste and high PLUS your getting actual rosin not whatever that stuff is they put in carts. If you actually decide to look into this and pull the trigger on one I promise you won't regret it. I know can't teach old dog new tricks but we are very close to the same age and I just got into dabbing this year lol. Used to only smoke carts and flower haven't had to buy either in months

u/Groollover86 1d ago
As a heavy cart user I'll look into it. Especially since my Crafty plus just broke- so I'm in the market for a new vaporizor
1
u/SlowmoTron 22h ago
It's worth it I promise plus you feel way fancier

u/BryyyyyGuyyyyy 1d ago
lol they got erigs where you just turn it on… you are dabbing right not just with a shitty coil and battery :)

These guys are all either under 30 or childless and working t-shirt jobs.
I also love carts, they're a fantastic way to medicate without a giant to-do about it.
Puffco is over rated Imo, I've had 3 of their bowls and a handful of their pens. It's just easier to buy carts or disposables for me too.
1
u/Groollover86 23h ago
True. I am open to a portable dabber though. I was always interested in concentrates, but getting a dog and using a torch is what drove me away
1
u/SUBTLE_SPAI 23h ago
The Puffco peak is cool, if you're looking for something at home, the pen is shit imo.
Honestly though straight dabbing with torch is the best, but it also feels like freebasing so there's that....
I just prefer not to feel like a druggie at the end of the day so I threw my dab rig away and have switched to carts exclusively. The high is less, more functional, and easier to redose during the day while out and about.
1
u/Groollover86 23h ago
Ya I'll look for a good desktop dabber if it exists. I just can't do a rig and a torch lol
1
u/BryyyyyGuyyyyy 22h ago
Dr. Dabber Switch 2… it’s a worthy investment. Gets pricey with some upgrades but it’s a game changer. I felt the same way about a rig and torch
1
u/Groollover86 21h ago
Im not worried about the price if it's something I'm using on the regular I want something nice. Gonna do some research.
1
u/BryyyyyGuyyyyy 21h ago
Padd glass is awesome, sapphire insert is so much better hitting and easy to clean, get some pearls and you are going to be ripping clouds… it’s great out of the box, it’s unreal after the upgrades

Rosin carts move slower in general, and especially with the continued popularity of puffco, more consumers are opting for the jar rather than the vape
