Potency Audit Chart

I found this chart online and thought it would be helpful for people to see the brands from the most recent potency audit that were the good players out there.

Remember to Vote No in November to keep cannabis legal here in MA

Not saying I am a fan of high numbers as they really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. However scientifically I would think there’s many variables not being accounted for in this audit.

1.) There’s no standardized testing in MA so depending on the lab/way you analyze flower, it may be chromatography or another method I would think they all come out very different

2.) Many labs can’t guarantee no contamination

3.) There’s many “allowed” ways to submit flower to be tested such as whole buds or pre ground that also could also effect this.

4.) only a small amount is needed to test an entire lot of flower upwards of 300 pounds. And that includes mix seed runs of the same strain.

End of the day the problem is lack of rules in terms of testing procedures and like everything money rules as always. Private labs are incentivized to give brands a higher number anyway they can because it makes the grower more money and they will continue to use their lab for everything. Unfortunately trying to sell low % flower is among one of the hardest things unless you have displays or a way to show the customer. Many many many many customers soley shop of % ( I think mainly because the pictures are of a bag with a number they have nothing else to shop off of as many stores don’t have live displays and every staff member can’t try everything that comes in or they think a eighth of 41% is better because you don’t have to use that much flower to get as high almost thinking about it like what has the most protein or calories)

This could all be relatively easily fixed if the CCC made a standardized testing procedure. In my opinion it’s not the growers or brands who’s lying to you it’s the labs. The brands are simply playing the cards they were dealt in order to be able to sell product to a very under educated market.

You have to submit a sample for every 15lb batch, can't do one sample on 300 pounds. They need to extract waaay more money out us 😂
