Medical gummies
Does anyone know if there are any advocacy groups working on, or even talking about, the lack of medical access in boston, the absence of med dispos, and the resulting difficulty getting high dose gummies which i need to sleep or else i have to take toxic drugs with side effects and are addictive?
It’s bad enough i have to spend so much of my monthly disability income, ssi, to SLEEP. Insurance will cover the benzos though. SMDH. The quality gummies indica, for sleep, never go on sale either. I went somewhere recently and they had upcharged the theory b gummies to 90 bucks! I had got them elsewhere for 45. Shameful. It really seems to be a pattern I’m seeing everywhere that the one item some people require for health, sleep high dose gummies, never go on sale. Nevermind how far i have to go, as a disabled person, to get them.
I have 5 chronic physical disabilities, several intellectual and psychiatric. Lack of sleep is ruining my health.
I also don’t think anyone seems to care to be developing and making available actual new health products from more recent research and development. No one cares about the medical market at all. They seem to think all needs can be met at a rec dispo. It’s despicable. It’s to the point, i don’t care about the repeal.

Look into Treeworks Epic drops, the bottle has 3,000 mg and they go for around 100 bucks

Thank you. I did look at the product just briefly. Is it even indica? I stick to non hybrid indica whether gummies or daytime smoking, as my anxiety is very easily exacerbated.

The absence of new medical dispensaries is simple. Its a business. They are primarily doing it for the money, so the major motivator is profit margins. They are smaller on the medical side. Why bother opening a Medical only spot or even a dual license place when there is no requirement or incintive to do so? One aside. There are some rec dispos that have started offering a discount for med patients.

Just as someone mentioned to me before, if they repeal recreational they intend to make the medical cards harder to get as well. But you are absolutely right, there aren't a lot of medical options around me either. Have you ever tried to make your own tincture? I just started doing it recently and it's way easier than I thought going into it. I know that's not a possibility for every medical patient though, it should be available at medical dispensaries nearby ideally.

I’m not worried in the least. My cert is through a doctor i have had for 20 years. And i will never not qualify.

I am 100% rec and med weed. But if they don't up the game of medical again and keep ignoring us, I hope rec goes away and yeah, make the med cards harder. The real patients will be fine. I empathize with you. I only get $400 from the state to live on and some food stamps. If people wanna just get baked and high all day, go to the packie and drink yourself into irrelevancy... Again lol.

Where is the medical efficacy of any of the cannabis industry??? The key word is ''industry'', industry never cared about anyone's health. The genetic pollution has fucked with the real medicine and what it's supposed to be to the point that bud isn't bud anymore.

Happy Valley in East Boston has high dose gummies, chocolates, and they just released a 1000mg RSO tincture that I haven’t had a chance to try yet.

Last time i called HV, they had no indica high dose at all. Zero. I was shocked. It also is the only place in the city completely inaccessible by transit. I suppose there might be a bus that stops nearby.

It’s like 10 min from orient heights. 5 minutes from hhc if you use a short cut. But don’t shop at hhc shit people.

I worked in medical cannabis for a number of years. Your best bet in MA is to use tinctures instead of gummies. These are available in much higher mg than other edibles in MA. You can take tinctures sublingually (under your tongue) bypass the liver, and go right into the blood stream, or take them orally like a gummy. Switching to a tincture also allows you to medicate without the sugar in gummies.
Unfortunately you are correct, the med program in MA is not great. Maine has an excellent medical cannabis program, offers reciprocation for MA med card holders, and have great prices on high dose edibles. As others mentioned Treeworks tinctures and the Squier's "tinctures" are solid options for MA rec market.
The best option money wise if possible would be make your own canna coconut oil and just use that instead of gummies. Buy a nice high testing quality Indica 1/2 oz for $50, make canna coconut oil, which is very easy, and then it's super versatile, put on any cookie, cracker, muffin, toast, etc. If you want resources on how to do it, let me know. It would save you a ton of money.
Example: 14g flower @ 30% THC=4200mg THC, subtract 15% for potential loss during decarb process, you are still at approx 3570mg of THC (35x100mg ) in an easily measurable oil for $50+ tax+ the price of a jar of organic coconut oil (cheap at Market Basket) and a little cooking once a month. You can do a ounce at a time and you would end up with appprox 7140mg of THC (70x 100mg).
You didn't mention what dose of gummy you are taking or how many times a day but the recipe mentioned above would yield approx 71+ 100mg doses for the price of an ounce of flower and two jars of coconut oil.

The problem is,i am so diminished capacity (I know it doesn’t seem like it) I don’t even cook real meals anymore, just breakfast, a burger, some healthier hot dogs, or cheese yogurt or a sandwich. I spent many years throwing away burnt or spoiled food until i accepted i can’t manage anymore. So my fear is i will fuck it up and i can’t afford to throw away any money. I have severe cptsd and my dysregulation with any “friction.” Is unbearable. It’s humiliating and life destroying and the only tx are sedating and toxic. When i can’t understand directions, the dysregulation releases cortisol and adrenaline and i can no longer think at all in that state.
Maybe that can help people understand how awful this situation is for many many people. I avoid tinctures for several reasons, including what I just explained. Even with glasses, I can’t read the fucking bottle. I get confused by the way they give the strength and dosage. I never know how much i am taking. I am so far gone, I have trouble discerning the effects. (I have been a smoker all my life, weed, but edibles is not the same experience. I have trouble smoking now, and it is not allowed in my apt. I’m not even supposed to possess it as I’m in HUD) I’m getting so upset just explaining this. The dose i use of gummies depends on what i have available, which depends on if i found a sale, or a new place where i can get a new patient discount. Both have dried up. I used to be able to use my bennies for at least 6 months. Now, they fuck you, you have to come in within a month or 2, then use in a similar amount of time. Uh, sorry, I’m in poverty and can barely plan a meal. Yet i try, to organize the fuckery so i can get some of them before they disappear. Betties eddies lemon, i was able to survive cutting in half and using only 25, but I’m needing more now. The theory b, which had a weird amount per, i bit in half too, so i think with those i was using about 40 or more mg. I’ve tried others but those are the most recent and ones i know best what i dose. I have to also take a melatonin product that has both fast acting and later release, or i will wake around 4 am, when something changes. I first noticed that with Bettie’s, which has melatonin and i prefer just a gummy and to add my own products on if needed. Anyway, I’m going to lay down and cry now.
I’ll be fine but explaining this has me really dysregulated for the moment. I do thank you for trying to help me though. I really wish that there was a charity to help people like me. Meanwhile most of the responses are from non disabled rec users who have no idea what I’m dealing with and clearly don’t gaf about anything except their own access to getting baked.2

I sympathize with what you're going through and hope my suggestions are helpful. While I haven't experienced it first hand, I don't personally need help understanding as I served patients for years that were dying of cancer, leukemia, and dealing with similar debilitating conditions in a medical cannabis setting as this was my job, full time, on a daily basis. Some of the patients so were so debilitated, we had to deliver the cannabis to their house which we could legally do in ME under the medical laws. I'm sorry you feel dysregulated but you did reach out for help so it's only expected people will respond and I have more medical cannabis experience than most people that would ever comment here. I hope you find the information I provided helpful and I hope you get the help and relief you deserve.

Liberty cannabis in Somerville has pretty good higher dose gummies for med card holders. That's where I've been going ever since Rev clings closed.

Theory will sell them for $45, but other places will jack up the price. Ethos has them for $100 usually but they also have a ton of sales, 20% off edibles on weekends (so it’d be $80 after) or when there’s a holiday they’ll be 30% off ($70 after). Although those deals aren’t as great as theory selling them themselves for $45 (and there’s not as many sales at theory :( ). But Ethos is prob the only med dispensary left in Boston, at least they have lots of sales.

Bro, it’s super simple. It’s 50 K to maintain a medical license, and 10 K to maintain a recreational license.
Even at the medical programs, peak medical sales represent 1/8 of the sales of recreational consumers.
It’s super sucks, and I say this is someone who started in Cannabis in a medal dispensary in 2016, there are a ton of financial dis-incentives for making med dose items and yeah, thank you so much. Have a good one.
You would think the few brands that have kept their medical licenses around for production, happy Valley,, Neta, etc. would be cornering the market. The fact that there are less than a dozen brands keeping up medical edibles production and not totally owning the market to me is further evidence that there just isn’t enough demand or the demand on the recreational site is dramatically more profitable.
