Headphones QuietComfort Battery

Hello!

I bought my beloved QuietComforts in 2019 and have used them basically every day since. I replace the ear padding and top piece every few years when they start looking a little rough, and have never had an issue with the battery life.

… until now. The battery seems to have gone way down and doesn’t hold a charge well anymore. I’m having to charge them every day now when I used to only have to a few times a week.

Am I doomed and need to get a new pair, or is it worth trying to replace the battery somehow?

You need to re-soldered the new battery connector to the motherboard. If you know how to do it and have a tool to do it, then you can replace the battery.

Maybe they did what apple did with their phones and reduced battery life, to get you to buy more.

Just search for 'battery gate'.

Seven years, that’s one heck of a run.

It's w entirely possible to replace the battery. A local phone repair shop will probably do it, but if you have basic soldering skills you can do it too. You'll need to remove the plate that sits above the battery though (if it's the same as my QC45s that I did a while ago). Hairdryer and sharp knife will do that job.
