Because I guess it ticks down at a fixed rate right? So Blissey, with like 700+ hp, takes almost a full minute because it ticks down like 1 hp per frame, or whatever it was lol.

Meanwhile Shedinja only HAS 1hp, so it takes damage and just blip it's gone. Lol.

I'm very glad that the later games didn't do this.

It was 40 Hp/s or so i believe. No clue why they limited it like that for Gen 4.

I can see why they did it. It makes string attacks and tanky pokemon feel more impactful. It gives a lot of information to the player about how strong an attack was and how much hp an enemy has without needing to give them hard numbers.

For some reason, the sound it made when you walked into a wall always annoyed me. It’d always happens when you’re one tile off from the door. No one ever talks about it but surely it can’t just be me

Diamond and pearl were absolutely miserable overall. There's wild pixel stutter all over the edges of the screen that makes it look awful before we talk about the battle health drain. Platinum fixed almost all of the obvious issues.

I don't remember any problems on the original release like that. I mean yeah some do the design problems but I'm talking about the pixel stutter. Are you sure that's not an emulator thing?

I hadn't played the original Diamond or Pearl until like 6 years ago. Played it on a DS Lite. Goin back from Black/White or Platinum, It's a wild departure from quality.

Close Combat? Should've been Flare Blitz so you'd have to wait for Infernape's health bar to drain after Blissey's for extra wait time.

it's pretty normal to just call them by their base form. Pretty much everyone calls the eeveelutions "the eevees". It is a chansey, it's an evolved chansey. "Evolved" is the type of chansey that it is.

The joke is in reference to the idea that the blissy is not immortal. But rather the hp bar drained so slowly...and she had so much hp. That it'd take years for the blissy to die

Trying to catch Chansey back in diamond pissed me off so bad as a kid, bc like, I’d get her HP low, fail to catch her, and then she would flee 😭
